Flagship Series. Total Domination IPA has a citrusy, floral hop aroma, and big hop flavor balanced with a richness imparted by Carahell and Munich malts. This beer is a big flavorful Northwest IPA that maintains its drinkability, and as such, has garnered great admiration from the novice craft drinker and the seasoned hop-head alike.

On tap at the Denali Park Salmon Bake, AK. Clearish orange-brown body, thin to medium off-white head. Bitter, leafy, hoppy nose with notes of brown sugar. Dry piny, toasty body, leafy and bitter, backed by biscuity malts. Nice, but certainly not a total domination.

From bomber to tulip @ home. I really enjoyed this IPA. I must admit, I keep having to remind myself that its not Japanese, thanks to the name. Sumerian gods and whatever, it still seems like an awfully oriental title to me. This particular brew pours a pretty cloudy gold. Head is thick and persistent, and lacing is full and sticky. Aroma says floral and citrus hops, and bready hay malt. Flavor is true to nose, if not slightly more citrus hop character than the smell implies. Has a pleasant dough yeast tone to it, definitely doesnt hurt the taste. Body has more to it than expected, Ill call it medium-full. Texture is creamy, carbonation is very well balanced. Finish is pleasantly bitter. Overall, Id have to say this was a pleasant experience. If you told me this brew came from San Diego, I wouldnt argue with you. A tip of my hat to this OREGON brewer, who seems to GET IT!!!! West coast IPA means "hella hoppy"! ;-P <- thats me, licking my chops over Ninkasi Total Domination! Yay!

An excellent IPA, Total Domination has a citrusy, floral hop aroma, and big hop flavor balanced with a rich and malty finish. An IPA that encompasses the reputation of the Pacific as the birthplace of the modern IPA.

[Bottle] Lightly hazed orange hue, moderate head retention. Strong citrussy hop aroma, some tropical fruit, bready malts. Plenty of citrussy hops on the palate, some sweetness both from the fruitiness of the hops and a mild digestive like biscuity malt. Not particularly complex but a decent IPA.

A steady pour into my large Tripel Karmeliet tulip produces a four-finger thick, light tan colored head; the head has lots of structure to it and leaves lots of thick lacing on the sides of my glass as well as falling with a very varied, rocky surface. The beer is a dark amber color that shows a lightly hazed amber color when held up to the light. Bright citrus, tangelo and lychee mix with soft, toasted malt, caramelized grain and perhaps a touch of sweet tea like aromatics. The malt towards the finish combines with sharper pine-hop notes and some pepper herbal notes. The aroma doesnt quite have the bright hoppy notes that I prefer (I wonder if age has anything to do with it), but it does have a nice mix of fruit and herbal notes from the hop as well as a supporting malt character that doesnt quite get in the way of the hops.

Fairly smooth textured, even creamy, I must have knocked out a fair amount of carbonation during my pour. The beer has a firm bitterness throughout that lingers on the palate; there is also a sort of menthol character that lingers in the finish. Lychee flavors mix with kumquat zest, tangelo and some other softer tropical fruit notes. The hop character also has some softer notes of pine, spicy herbal notes. There is a soft malt sweetness to this beer that accentuates the fruity hop character, and the sweet tea note that was found in the nose, is quite a bit reduced here in the flavor; almost non-existent. As the beer warms up, the herbal and pine notes come out a bit more. The body has a mediumish character to it, though it is not on the heavy side for an IPA; it is just enough that it is not still quaffable like an IPA should be.

Not a bad IPA, my guess it is perhaps not at its freshest, but I dont have a way of checking.

On tap at Loris Diner in San Francisco. Pours orange with a small white head, giving off aromas of pine and citrus, as well as sweet malt. The flavor was moderately hoppy, but disappointingly, very malt-forward. Lots of sweet caramel here. I guess I was hoping for a nice hoppy pint, but this didnt deliver. [707]

This is one of my favorite IPAs. This is so smooth and easy-drinking, but it is still bursting with juicy hop flavor. Have only tried it on bottle, but Id like to try it on tap.

Pours a cloudy amber color with a white head. Aroma of hops, grapefruit, pine, and caramel. Flavor is much the same-grapefruit, caramel, pine, and hops bitterness. Overall, a very nice beer.

Tasted on 5/19/11 from a 650mL bomber bottle purchased at BevMo Tempe. Pours clear, bright orange with an average white head that slowly recedes to a thin but even collar of lace. The nose is lemon and grapefruit citrus along with some grass and hay malt and some bitter resin. The name of this beer is a bit ridiculous given how balanced it is. The flavor is bitter lemon and grapefruit along with the lighter flavors of hay and grassy malt and bitter resin. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long bitter resin, grapefruit, and hay finish.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a nice, frothy head. Thick citrus aroma with some grapefruit and some major hops action. Dry, tart flavor. Thick hops with some tart grapefruit action. Decent IPA. Great balance as well.
