Lata. Clear golden, small white head. Grainy aroma, some hops to it. Flavour is grainy and malty hoppy, light bitterness.

floral, citrus, cereal, golden, clear, frothy, light sweetness, lightly bitter, thin feel, soft carbonation. Soft malty aroma, some nice flowery notes. Smooth in the mouth, softly sweet giving way to lingering bitterness. Hides the 6% a.b.v. quite well. Personally a bit headache inducing; every once and a while some of these Japanese majors just rub my brain the wrong way. Objectively though it’s a reasonable choice.

Can. Dull amber. Aroma is kind of plasticy. Has a similar taste, thick and gluey. One of the crappier 100% beers in Japan I’ve come across, actually. Really just a wanna-be malt liquor.

KyotoLefty (10194) - Kyoto, JAPAN - APR 20, 2014
Can from a Circle K. convenient store. Nice deep gold with orange tints, high, fine head. Clean malt nose, light lemony hops. Orange, light honey and biscuit. Rather tasty, really. Lightly fruit and citric. A bit of vanilla or cream. Decent major.

Can at Ibis Tokyo Shinjuku. Clear golden - white head. Grainy, light sweetness, some light bitterness, flowery notes, light metallic...

maekchu (3847) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAR 24, 2014
Can from Circle K Sunkus store (which apparently, at least initially, is the only outlet). Decent mid-range bitter aroma. Crystal-clear bright amber-gold color. Smooth light sweet malt initial, some grass, gentle bitter finish. Thin body. Not at all bad. Aroma is promising. Flavors just okay.

Tonkun (1296) - New Jersey, USA - MAR 22, 2014
Can. Clear light yellow orange pour with a big white head that disappeared quickly. Hop, soap, grain, floral. Light body. Sweet, floral, rye bread. Light carbonation. Not bad but not exciting
