The first Greek beer to be awarded a silver European Beer Star (2014).

Edgy and refreshing, with a perfect mouthfeel, this balanced and exceptionally full-bodied Pilsner tantalizes the taste buds and leaves you wanting more. The liquid quintessence of Aegean island living and Cycladic magic… in a bottle.

NISSOS Pilsner pours crystal clear with a rich golden color, a spicy, fragrant, herbal-citrusy aroma and subtle malt flavors, rounding off with a pleasant hoppiness at the finish. 12°

lagerette's rating

500 ml bottle with interesting story on a nicely designed label. Pours clear amber with nice white head that keeps well. Nice lacing. Aroma has a good balance of bready grain and more than one hops, and also citrucy and floral undertones. Tastes a good balance of sweetness and hop bitterness. A full bodied beer with medium carbonation, light texture with a crisp and interesting finish. A very good Greek pilsner from an island microbrewery. I will certainly enjoy it again at Tinos or Syros...and pair it with Greek food.

Nice malt flavor but without the bitterness to balance it. I would not call it a Pilsener. Decent and better than supermarket lager but a long way from being interesting.

Bottle in heraklion. Small dimishing head. Liw aroma and a bit pilsner taste. Also some sourishness. Mwoah

DrNosha (2276) - Württemberg, Germany, GERMANY - APR 22, 2017
0,5l Flasche. Goldgelbes klares Bier. Der Schaum zerfliest sofort. Getreidiger Lagerduft. Herb-getreidiger Geschmack. Wenig Tiefe oder Aroma. Erst wenn es wärmer wird wacht es etwas auf. Zu würzigem griechischen Essen ok.

psontis (30) - GREECE - APR 5, 2017
Malty aroma with hints of bread, flavor follows along, with a slightly oxidized flavor of copper. Ok pils to wash down a souvlaki, very bland and one sided

Grumbo (2825) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - APR 2, 2017
Bottle from Beer24, Thessaloniki. Pours clear golden with a small foamy white head. Aroma of hop, hay, grain, and straw. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Light body, slight sticky texture, average carbonation. Finish is slightly herbal and has a lasting bitter edge.

Michael27 (1878) - Berlin, GERMANY - FEB 28, 2017
Aus der Flasche getrunken (Supermarktkauf in Athen). Helles Amber im Glas. Der Schaum ist schnell weg. Ziemlich enttäuschend. Kaum Geschmacksrichtung zu erkennen.

kerenmk (4722) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - DEC 24, 2016
Bottle at Tzitzikas and Mermigas restaurant, Athens, Greece, 8.12.16. Clear dark gold with a white head. Warm and a little grainy aroma with some wet grass. Bitter taste with malty undertones and a little bit of diacetyl. Medium body, fairly carbonated, sweet malty finish with light bitterness.

bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - NOV 10, 2016
(Draught) Pours a clear golden body with a medium white head. Aroma of bread, citrus, and straw. Flavor of grain, bread, and minerals with a dry, bitter finish.
