Big hop aroma - juniper/pine. Pours a solid brown/black with thick foamy tan head with ample lacing. The taste is hoppy up front but finishes with a nice rich coffee flavor. There is also a nice hint of spice from the rye. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, a rewarding taste combination.

Hoppy, coffee in the right amount. One of the best rye beers to come out of no lable. Worth the try for fans of hop/coffee

Black pour with a thin sticky light tan head. Big and lovely nose of roasted black malt, a slight sweetness, and loads of bready and spicy rye. Nice flavor featuring rye malt and resiny sweet leafy and floral hops, a touch of roast, a little black malt and earthiness, with a floral and dry hopped finish. Nice rye balance with appropriate hoppiness (dry hopped flavor is a plus) with a right amount of semisweet roast. Nice.

Big black IPA. Strong aromas and flavors of roasted malt, nuttiness, coffee and hops. Pretty dark with a tan head and a medium body. Nice beer.

22 oz. bottle split 3 ways. Pours a dark cola brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have black coffee, dark chocolate, spicy rye, an additional herb/spice note, some resin and a green note, moderate bitterness, solid beer that I’m happy to have stumbled upon.
