Bottle. Moderate to heavy toasted, dark bread and dark chocolate, faint resin for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with coffee and cola in the background. Head is small, frothy, light tan, with some slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes slightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Palate is medium, watery with a lively carbonation. Lynnwood, Wa, - Total Wine, 12 oz bottle. Dark brown pour, medium thick khaki colored head, decent lacing. Licorice and leather in the aroma. Flavor has some espresso, a bit of pipe tobacco, some light chocolate. A bit of a chalky,dry mouthfeel. Rating #16 of 2016 vacation.

looks great, with a frothy light brown head over a black body. Pour aroma has suggestion of old coffee grinds, vanilla, and cheap chocolate. After smelling this, the flavor is quite surprising. There’s a light but good coffee aspect, a load of chocolate, and some dark roasted grains.

Bottle from Perfect Pour. Dark brown oaky body with medium tan head. Nose is coffee, dark chocolate, malts. Taste is similar of dark chocolate for sure and coffee galore. Good stuff. Nice dark brown coloured body with a thin, fast-dying light brown head. Aroma of coffee grounds, nuts, earth, pit fruits and a bit of raisins, but the spent coffee is definitely noticeable. Medium to Light-bodied; Strong assertive coffee flavour up front with not much malt to support it - a touch thin on the finish, with some caramel, nuts and musty notes right behind. Aftertaste shows the coffee, a touch of alcohol and very little else - no real malts either nor any sort of complexity. Overall, quite poor, as it’s solely one-dimensional with no complexity nor variance in flavours - thin malt and coffee, that’s it to this one. I love coffee, but this didn’t do it for me. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (Eye Street, Foggy Bottom), DC on 05-February-2015 for US$2,99 sampled at home in Washington on 10-January-2016, about a year after purchasing. Brownish-black pour with an off-white head. The aroma and flavor are full of coffee and chocolate with a hint of roasted malt. The coffee is very nice, with good flavor but no real bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel.
