Bottle: Pours a dark copper color with a finger of creamy beige head. Long lasting head and lots of thick sheet lacing. The nose strikes a balance between a PNW fresh hop ale and barleywine. The fresh floral and spicy hops work well with a sturdy malt base. Lightly spicy finish and some lingering floral bitters. A little sweet, sticky resin too. Kinda like a toned down Arrogant Bastard with an emphasis on the spicy/herbal hops. Enjoyable. strongpieman (1651) - Mount Airy, Maryland, USA - DEC 25, 2013
Bomber. A sweet malty aroma, but not heavy. Deep copper color, clear, event head. Medium body, a little syrupy, but in line with style. Overall a god choice Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - DEC 15, 2013
Pours a semi hazy yet somewhat dark red and leaves the same colored body with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dies to a cap covering the top of the body, adequate yet somewhat foamy lacing clings to the top of the glass, spider webs after a good minute; the aroma has somewhat citrusy hops up front with a decent backing by the nuts, toffee and a sort of bready malt; still after a bit of warming a really super nice spiciness comes through; the taste is spicy yet somewhat bitter and also sweet breadiness making just an all around great flavor, slight bitter hoppy aftertaste and dry finish; its pretty easy on the palate and nothing really obscure or harsh whatsoever; overall - reminiscent slightly of an AIPA (probably why I like it so much, but still conveys enough to showcase a Winter Warmer, good stuff that I would definitely would have again bluejacket74 (1992) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - NOV 22, 2013
22 ounce bottle, it’s a new arrival at my local beer store so I assume it’s pretty fresh. It’s the new red screen printed label so I think it’s a 2013 bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear reddish/copper color with an inch off-white head that sticks around a while. There’s also a good amount of lacing. The brew smells like citrusy hops, nuts, toffee, and some bready malt. It tastes like citrusy and spicy hops, toffee, nuts, bready malt, and some light fruit and vanilla. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit slick and syrupy, and has a good amount of carbonation. It’s certainly not a traditional winter warmer, but I think it’s a good beer. It was certainly a nice surprise compared to the usual heavily spiced winter warmers out there. This is the first No-Li beer I’ve had, so I’ll have to try more of their brews now. $7.99 a bomber. bottle, from the Beer Dispensary, Apex. good aroma, sweet. Malty. little spicy hop. little nutmeg, some some pine or evergreen. Clean orangy brown color, good head, faded quick, spotty lace. Sweet flavor. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish. ok, like some of the fresh aromatics, but has a tad oxidized thing going on. don’t know if I’ll ever get to Spokane, hope so to beter judge. good beer, not anything to wow me or make me want more.

One of my favorite styles. This one hits all the right notes, and is thus solid. However, the flavor is quite subdued and laid back. Definitely grows on you though. B/B+

Bomber from State Line. Pours turbid muddy ruddy brown colored with tan head. Nose is caramel malt, spice of the nutmeggy variety, backup hops. Tastes rich, with caramel malt, x-mas spices, hops, and a complex finish. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - JUN 18, 2013
Bottle. Pours a hazy dark brown with some reddish tinges and a moderate light tan head on it. Nose is quite malty with a lot of spices on it and some almost toffee tones. Taste is definitely malt forward with some slight bitterness to it and the spices really coming through. Interesting beer. rumproasts (5356) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUN 16, 2013
bottle. Brown with one finger head. Mildly spiced warmer-style beer. Slightly above average for the style. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - APR 5, 2013
Small off-white head atop clear dark amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, caramel, some pine, light cherry. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit/pine, caramel, light cherry. Medium body, some resin, light acidity. Quite hoppy, which really isn’t a characteristic of a winter warmer. Tasty though.
