Cask. Very plummy aroma. Pours chestnut brown with white lace top. Taste has fruit to the fore - hints of strawberries behind the plum. Acid finish but overall a pleasing porter. jjsint (3085) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - NOV 21, 2016
Dark brown, translucent and pretty flat. Plum is in abundance in the aroma, along with charcoal, liquorice and slate. Very sweet at first, fading slowly to bittersweet in the finish with gooey plummy notes all the way down. Aftertaste has a bit too much acidity. All in all it is quite delicious, and is one of those lower strength beers that still manages to feel boozier than it is. fonefan (49278) - VestJylland, DENMARK - APR 27, 2016

[ As Nobbys Plum Porter ].
Clear medium to dark brown color with a average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, candy, fruity, plum, strawberry, UK yeast notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, plum, roasted, dark malt, strawberry sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat.

Slightly bumholey aroma, some rotting bins, some plum juice as well as the enteric aspects. A nice red though. Does have a drinkable palate, the aroma flaws aren’t so obvious. Body is sweet, there’s an OK roast, fruitiness is OK, but a little sickly (harks back to the bins). Not on top form. (Which is getting annoying, I’ve just had 5 back-to-back sub-par beers.)
Cask, Swan & Rushes, Leicester. Dark ruby red brown with an off white foam. Aromas are dark chocolate with molasses and some roast character. Plum and earthy damson skin. Flavours are sweet plummy fruit with berries and spices. Earthy and dry with pepper. Quite light bodied with low dark chocolate bitterness. Pretty good.

Cask Handpump at the Milds, Stouts, Porters & Strong Ales weekend Prince Of Wales, Foxfield 06/10/2007
Small white head. Fruity aroma. Dark and slightly hazy in appearance with some dryness and bitterness in a crisp burnt roast finish. maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - FEB 15, 2008
Cask conditioned - handpump - OGs Wellingborough. A dark brown coloured beer with a purple hue (or is that merely suggestion). The aroma is suitably sweet and fruity. There is some light roast in the taste but it’s dominated by fruit and becomes a little cloying after a while. Tastes nice but you wouldn’t want too much of it. Cask, Cellar Bar, St Andrews. Hazy dark chestnut to brown with a big off-white head. Nose is malty with not much else, some slight sourness. Mouth is unripened plums and some malt, quite sour and gives a disjointed unpleasantness that I can’t help feeling would have been much better had the plums not been present. Drinks well. hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 6, 2006
Cask at Bedford BF ’06. Hazy medium to dark brown with a beige head. Malt aroma, the taste begins with some sourness. A rather mild porter with a smooth, pleasant mouthfeel.
