Delightfully dark Strong Ale from years gone by. Rich malt and hop balance with a wonderfully warm finish. Not for the faint hearted.

Cask (Gallows Bird, Espoo, Real Ale Festival 2007). Different taste every mouthful. Some chocolate, some sourness, some wateryness.

Cask conditioned gravity dispense at Merton Winter Beer Festival 17-02-07. Poured a very dark brown colour with nutty, malty aroma. Warming rich slightly sweet malty taste typical of a winter ale with the alcohol always present, little in the way of bitterness but really nice. I understand they do an oak aged or is it barrel aged version of this which sounds very interesting.

Cask conditioned at Merton Beer Fest 07. Dark brown beer with red hue and thin cream head. More an Old Ale for me with an aged sweet & Sourness note. Thin on the palate but a definite hop finish. Alcohol is noted throughout with a sharpness on the tongue.

Tranquillity (2564) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 21, 2007
Cask @ Real Ale Festival, Gallows Bird, Espoo. Musty, nutty, faint aroma. Something bothers me with this beer’s taste, it’s sour and a bit roasted but watery. Dark brown colour.
