UPDATED: FEB 9, 2013 Draft - Floral sweet orange hops. Thick of white head and clear dark copper. Hops stand out with the orange and pine dominating followed by some sweetness to round out and an appropriate amount of bitterness. All the ingredients are there, but for some reason aren’t in harmony as they should be. I like it for a local brew, but it is just missing something.

Copper coloured beer with off-white head. Aroma of caramel. Taste sweet caramel with hoppy notes. Strange combination for a ipa.

All that goes with an IPA but a little sweeter and perhaps more balanced than most. Tried two of the brews from this brewpub and had a high opinion of both.

On tap. Pours a dark copper color with light head. Aromas of light pine, oranges and alcohol. Flavors carry same. Sweeter than expected.

Poured from growler from brewery. Cloudy golden orange with off-white head. Aroma of biscuit malt and mild caramel malt, mild hops. Quick finish, bitter hops, subtle malt. Light body.

Oakes (18472) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 24, 2014
Amber and bright, brassy amber malt nose, earthy character, low bitterness for style. Hops are subtle, a little berryish and that’s about it. Not really IPA but decent amber/apa on the malty side.

mcberko (18557) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 18, 2014
On tap at Noble Pig, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma is light on the hops with biscuity malt and a very light dry hoppiness. Flavour is rather sharp, with herbal hops, a little British tinge to it, and crisp crackery malt. Decent balance, with a good astringency on the finish. Solid IPA.

Lagerboy (2221) - British Columbia, CANADA - APR 8, 2014
Tasting Fight @ The Brewhouse, sample # 3:Clear paler orange yellow, fading off-white foam. Fruity citrus hop aroma. Lightly bitter citrus fruity hop taste, slightly floral and herbal, mellow caramel malt. Average carbonation, light-medium bodied, moderately hopped. Clean and easy. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)

dfearnley (2284) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 5, 2014
Draft to taster Mango, papaya, grapefruit, orange, lychee, flowers and resin. Clear light amber with a long lasting creamy thin white head. Taste is up front and in your face bitter but then light syrupy sweet and then to a light bitter papaya.

Nothing like a pint 3 seconds after the pub opens. And I’m listening to Nyet Nyet Soviet - I had this song in Powerplay 80 on K-tel records. Caramel, apricots, smells thick. My nose is a bit stiffed up so I’m missing out on the finer qualities. Lime, citrus. It’s got pretty good that - very robust. Huge zing to this and a heavy spice level. Sweet caramel, peachy, pepperish, chewy. I dig but I don’t think this is a multiple all night drinker. Red apple skin. Solid malty after taste with fruity lingerings.
