Not quite what I was expecting for a red ale. It was a lot darker than expected and had a strong malt taste.

From the 12 fl oz can dated 10/11/16. Red-amber and foamy heady pour. Sweet caramel or melted malt presence on the nose. Medium and smooth body. The taste is chock full of sweet caramel malts with a bitterness that has a kind of tobacco finish to it. jhamp9 (1931) - Corinth, Texas, USA - SEP 5, 2016
Clear dark mahogany pour with an off white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is sweet caramel toast and a little earthy. Taste is very sweet caramel, toast, metallic, and medicinal. Medium body. Maybe a bad can?

Pours a very dark reddish brown color with ivory colored head. Caramel malts all over the nose with some light nuts and toast; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with a malty sweetness and some earth tones. KamGoPro (220) - Texas, USA - MAY 14, 2016

I enjoyed this beer. not as hoppy as I expected, which worked for me. Had a taste of caramel with a bit of an earthy tone. Would definitely drink again. lownote (585) - Austin, Alabama, USA - JAN 22, 2016
Gentle kind of sweet caramel aroma. Pours clear and deep red but just a tiny bit of head. Before taste notice the low carbonation and thick water feel of the beer (on tap at source). Pretty sweet flavor. Very light hop bitterness. Very easy drinking. Cavie (4769) - Arlington, Texas, USA - JAN 1, 2016
On tap at the brewery. This pours a clear amber color with a white head. Dried leaves on the aroma, with caramel malts. Light grains on the flavor as well, with a gentle, drying sweetness towards the finish. Leafy hops but a good balance.
