Aroma is roasty and not much else. Coffee. Taste follows with some dark chocolate notes. No coconut. Meh puboflyons (3433) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - APR 10, 2017
On tap at the Charlotte, NC Airport. This pours dark brown to near black with these gorgeous cranberry red highlights in the light. Big sweet caramel, dark malt, toasted dark bread, vanilla or coconut notes in the aroma. The body is very creamy and medium. The taste is sweet, milky, char, and mild to finish. If this was in my area I would have it again. drpimento (3638) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - APR 5, 2017
Pretty good for a flavored Porter, especially in that the flavors are muted and the essential Porter character dominates. User134089 (1644) - - MAR 31, 2017

Was lucky enough to receive this as part of a 10-beer package sent by Jay. Had one NoDa about three years ago and thought it was a decent session. I believe they were still a fairly new brewery at the time. Had semi-followed them afar since and was glad to get one of these in the package. A porter brewed with cocoa nibs and coconut? Right up my alley.
Poured a pitch black color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy, khaki head. Rather serene setting underneath. Good spotty lacing. Excellent foamy retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Could not pick out a specific smell in the initial whiff. Was kind of a muddled affair. Later got cocoa, vanilla, dark fruits - plum, purple grape, raspberry and mixed berries - rye, caramel, toffee and some coconut cream late. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted a bit different than the nose. In order got cocoa powder, bitter chocolate, toasted bread, plum, spoiled dark fruits, rye, vanilla, black raspberry, toffee, hints of coconut flakes and roasty nutty malts. (Taste - 3.75)
Full body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth, roasty finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Good, but not great. Was hoping for more with the description. Would have it again though. (Overall - 3.75)

Pour is a black with a huge tan head. Aroma is a really nice roasted malt with a intense dark chocolate. Flavor is more chocolate and a thick and chewy mouthfeel. More chocolate is left on the tongue as this goes down. I did not get any coconut which was dissapointing. But even with no coconut showing up this is a fine chocolate flavored porter.

Can... Pours dark brown with mahogany highlights and a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The aroma is a blend of chocolate, vanilla, and a light note of toasted coconut. Light to medium-bodied with airy carbonation. The flavor is very roasty, featuring bitter cocoa and a modest measure of toasted coconut. Finishes carbonic and moderately bitter. Poured from can.
Aroma of nut and roasted malt.
Appearance is almost stout like - dark mahogany with strong tan head.
Tasting the roasted malt with the dry cocoa and a bit of coconut. Some hops as well.
Palate is full flavored with enough carbonation to distinguish from a stout.
Overall, great porter. M4grem (61) - North Carolina, USA - OCT 7, 2016
Pretty good porter. Just a bit of coffee flavor and a full palate but a long palate after with an odd throaty taste. Good head and rings. Very drinkable over on.

Tallboy can picked up at Craft and Draft Columbia. Huge aroma of roasted malt, roasted nuts, coffee and green coconut. Nice flavor with coffee and espresso. I honestly didn’t get much coconut but the lingering flavors were nice anyway. I’m really liking this brewery...wish the distributed to FL. Intense toasted dark malts, cacao, filter coffee, light, sweet chocolate. Hazy, dark brown, small, creamy, beige head. Light bitter. Dark roast filter coffee, toasted dark malts, cacao, charcoal, some molasses, but immediately turning quite bitter and dry in the finish, lively carbonation, medium bodied. Very nice Porter, intense and rich aroma and palate. Keg at A Taste of Carolina, Charlotte.
