Tap at Beer Study. Soft pale blonde pour with one finger of off white head. Great nose, tons of citrus and fruity hops. Very and green/leafy hops. Tropical. Awesome flavor, good lord. Juicy and citrusy, pine resin, mango fruit, tropical. Beautiful and dank with some light onion notes on the finish. Light medium with a very hoppy finish.

Pours a slightly hazy light gold. No head. Tastes a little yeasty. More of a pithy bitterness.

Type: 16-oz. can Glass: Beer Nerd tulip From: My friend, Jay Price: $4 (educated guess) Purchased: N/A; Received March 10, 2017 Consumed: March 13, 2017 Reviewed as: American Double / Imperial IPA Misc.: Canned on Jan. 31, 2017 Thanks, Jay! Was lucky enough to receive this as part of a 10-beer package sent by Jay. Had one NoDa about three years ago and thought it was a decent session. I believe they were still a fairly new brewery at the time. Had semi-followed them afar since and was glad to get one of these in the package. Had their Coco Loco a few days ago as part of the package as well. Have high hopes for this one. Poured a deep gold mostly clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Could see just a few bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass, but rather serene overall. Very good uneven lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00) Smelled floral, maple syrup, caramel candy squares, spoiled nectarine, sticky resin, melon, cantaloupe, pineapple, hints of cereal milk, toffee candy and earthy herbal. Picked up Cascade hop early on, maybe Citra too, but having trouble picking out anything else with all the Maple Syrup malts. (Smell - 3.75) Taste followed for the most part. Wow, that sticky maple syrup dominates. No hiding that 10.2 pct. ABV. Also got caramel candy squares, bitter orange peel, pine needles, toffee, resin, lemon zest and nectarine. Getting some spiciness, which I’m association with Simcoe. Really hard to pick out any other hops. It was kind of messy and unbalanced that way. (Taste - 3.75) Medium body. Sticky texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Bitter abrupt finish. (Feel - 3.75) Wanted to like this better than I did. Would still like to have it again though. (Overall - 3.75) 3.77 85 B+

16oz can from Salud, pours a clear orange with some head that faded quickly. Nose has plenty of orange and soap, honey comb, a little tangerine, mild perfume. Flavor is sticky with honey and orange and grapefruit, a little lemon-lime soda, mild paper, some chewed bubblegum. Finishes full bodied and a little sticky. Reminds me of Hopslam when Hopslam was good.

Can, at Mikes Brew N Cue Cary. Canned 01/31/17. Ok aroma sweet. Citrus, on the grapefruit side and maple. Clean golden orange color good initial head, faded quickly to a foam cover. Fairly Bitter lightly sweet flavor. Heavy body, oily creamy mouthfeel, fairly bitter finish. It’s ok, don’t think the maple works all that well, fairly astringent on the finish.

(16oz can) clear gold. Lots of lacing and bubbles. Nose of fresh hops, grapefruit oil, malty goodness, caramel. Taste is exceptionally bitter, not super balanced, malty too but rather than being integrated both flavors stand out like a sore thumb, alcoholic linger, medium-high bitter linger.

Can thanks to Rainer. Pours a hazy gold with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is strong maple, pine, tropical fruit. Medium mouth, juicy, maple, very sweet, light bitterness, very good.

Citrus hop and maple aroma is a nice mix. Clear orange color with a long lasting foam. A nice hop flavor. Leaves a slight film of maple that is slightly off putting but good.

On tap at NoDa. Pours a golden orange color with white head. Hoppy, grassy, slight resiny aromas. Very hoppy, resiny, grassy flavors mixed with some sweet maple syrup flavors. I was skeptical of the popularity of this one. But a really nice take!
