COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For us this is where it all started! The rich golden color comes from a blend of English and American base malts accented with substantial amounts of Victory and Wheat malt. The American citrus hops take center stage with emphasis on late boil additions of Citra and Amarillo. This signature ale is hopped before, during, and after the boil!

Stopped by Duckworth’s in Charlotte last week and having never tried anything from these guys, I stared out the evening with this. The beer presented in a tall tulip glass. A slightly hazy dark amber/gold color with a good bit of froth on top. Big hoppy aroma. Grapefruit, orange slices, honeydew melon, freshly-ground hop cones. That’s what I’m talking about. Very nice aroma. I’m excited for this one. Moderate heft, holds up to the alcohol and flavor profile nicely. Crisp finish. Fresh hops all over the palate. Nothing tastes artificial or cheap here. Lots of fresh citrus fruity flavors, mild veggie greens, sweet honey malts - great balance! This was surprising. Such a great IPA. I am continually impressed and excited that NC is finally making some strides and improving their IPAs offered. One of the top-3 in the state IMO. Nice work, NoDa.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2018 Pours amber with a creamy head with thin lacing. Aroma is citrus with tropical fruit. Taste follows aroma, with a hop forward bitterness. The first sip hits you with a citrus blast, sweet background and velvety mouthfeel and finishes bitter. I thoroughly enjoyed this beer, and would gladly order again.

Can. Pours a hazy orange body with a one finger fizzy white head. The nose is pithy and resiny hops with some heavy grapefruit over a caramel malt base. The flavor is rather bracingly bitter and sharp up front, with a slight harshness to the hops. The malt base shows a bit of sweetness, but it's pretty well in check due to the heavy handed hops. Not a big fan of this one, a little too brash and unrefined for me. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Not a badly made beer, just not one for my tastes. 3/7/6/3/13

Crisp copper coloured body with a nice two to three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of bright tropical fruits and resinous, dank hops along with some mild sugars, a pleasant malt backbone and some subdued herbal and grassy notes near the end. Medium-bodied; Assertive tropical fruits and resinous hops with a nice bitter bite near the beginning, showing some mild sugars, a light bit of grass and herbal flavours and finishing with a smooth and balanced malt backbone. Aftertaste shows more of the hop characteristics with a lot of passionfruit, guava and bitter resin flavours, but also some light sweetness and a dry grassy finish which balances this out quite well. Overall, a very well-balanced IPA that shows a hop-centric character with the tropical fruits and resinous qualities the strongest, but the balance is just right and the bitterness keeps going to the very end. Definitely worth trying to find if you like IPAs and live anywhere close to the south! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from GrapeVine in Fort Mill, South Carolina on 21-August-2017 after watching the eclipse in South Carolina for US$3,40 sampled at home in Washington on 05-October-2017. This can was made on 14-July-2017 with the hashtag #ShowYourCans. Canned: 14-July-2017 // Purchased: 21-August-2017 // Sampled: 05-October-2017

Draft at the source. Hazy golden orange with a sticky white head. Grapefruit, citrus rind, orange, pine trees, resin. Lots of bright hops with caramel malt. Medium bodied. Nice. Utter finish. Loaded with hops without being overly astringent. Excellent IPA. (notes, 2015)
