On draught at the Nodding Head. Pours red with a ight white head. Nose is malty and citrus with slight hints of hops, flowers, and grass. Flavor is bitter, but not in a good way. The balance is way off on this one. Looking at the previous ratings, I wonder if the recipe has changed as this has a lot of hop character. Average brewpub pale ale. Real strange pale ale, way too much citrus for me, it had a grapefruit taste which I really don’t like. It was amber in color and went down fine though. spikee (96) - Providence, Rhode Island, USA - FEB 24, 2005
Light malty aroma with a lemon and citrus hoppiness. Pours a clear, medium amber with an average, off-white, and lasting head. Slightly sweet with a moderate amount of bitterness and a touch of salt. Finish is slightly acidic with a "kick in the teeth" hoppy bite that lingers long after it goes down. Excellent hops! Medium-bodied with an oily and fizzy texture. Pours pail amber. Aroma of fresh citrus and lightly floral hops. Flavor is a nice fres hop with a weak watery maltiness failing to provide a backbone. Palate is rather thin. michael-pollack (4959) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 15, 2005
Draught @ Brewery: Smelled hoppy and floral, though not as strong as the 3C. Poured amber/brown color with a good head and fair lacing. Tasted of hops, spicy hops. Maybe some nutty notes as well. Easy to drink. Overall, not dry enough for me.

Draught: Amber orange, small white head. Medium body. Aroma is hops, grass, lemon, citrus. Taste is grass, leaves, citrus, earth, caramel. Dry finish. MilkmanDan (1942) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - JAN 14, 2005
Peachy gold. Nose hoppy and citric, not much else. Flavor very better and bready, oddly lagerish in its finishing hops. Far too bready. Not a good thing. jeffc666 (1984) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - JAN 13, 2005
Bright orange small white head. Light citrus and tons of bread in the aroma. Even more bready maltiness in the aroma. Astringent bitterness at the end. Dry finish medium body, very attentuated. XO (52) - New Jersey, USA - DEC 15, 2004
I’m a hop-head so I enjoyed this beer. Not as good as Victory’s Hop-devil but comparable. Sweet, hoppy, citrus aroma. Cream-white head. Reddish-gold and very tasty. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 5, 2004
Clear amber body with creamy off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, some pine. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit. Light-medium body, slight resin.
