Left Coast inspired pale ale...solid malt backbone coupled with a Cascade hop citrus snap makes for an enjoyable pint...after pint..after pint.

Poured a gold color with a white head, and some lacing. citrusy hop, and a sweet malt aroma. Light grapefruit bitterness, sweet malts. Rather weak and oily mouthfeel.

6 oz sample at the brewpub. Bright dark amber, good head retention. Light malty nose, honey-apple-lemon character here and in the flavor. Light and mild, little hoppiness that I could detect.

Gently hoppy aroma, with something very pretzel like. The Cascades are very noticeably behind the aroma, with somewhat grassy notes as well. Clear, bright amber/golden with a bit of head around the ring of the glass. A gentle bitterness builds into a finish that makes me circumspect about what this ultimately achieves. (on tap at brewpub)

Smells like a bale of fresh hops. Wonderful aroma. Medium to dark gold in color. Flavor is a great balance between slightly toasted malt, hop spiciness and true, fresh hop flavors. The only thing keeping this from scoring higher is that I wish there was a slight bit more hop twang at the finish. A great session beer for hop lovers.

Above average APA, but not a complex flavor of its West Coast cousins. If you are ever in Philly check Nodding Head and Oscar's Tavern (both on the same block of Samson).

good hop smells. Solid but not mind-blowing by any definition..............

Amber in color, lacy white head, fruity & floral aroma, I agree with jca_lbi in that this IPA doesn't have the 'west coast' hoppiness as the brewery claims, spicy & hoppy finish, citrusy flavors as well, excellent IPA

jcalbi (380) - Medford, New Jersey, USA - JUN 16, 2002
Amber colored body with a sticky white head. Very floral hop nose. They claim that this beer is 'West Coast' hoppy. I beg to differ. While the aroma hops were very pronounced, the beer lacked depth and complexity, hopwise. Some hints of grass, pine needles and citrus elements present.

Nice floral, hops aroma. Golden honey color, nice head. Smooth carb, watery. Very hoppy to taste, a bit too bitter but clean. Nice IPA with bitter finish. Good beer.
