Smoky malt aroma. Black strong in alcohol and a little rich on the palate with a crisp and slightly dry malt finish. decaturstevo (6244) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - AUG 5, 2009
Deep brown pour with hints of ruby red. Burnt malt aroma domintates. Chocolate/cherry flavor stands out. Medium bodied with low carbonation. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 21, 2009
A beer, my girlfriend has always loved, and not that I wasn’t trying everything they had, but I knew I had to have this. Pours blackish with a 1 finger tan head. Nose is deep malty. Taste has some nice choconess, syrupy and pretty decent. puzzl (3258) - New York, New York, USA - MAR 23, 2009
Tap at the brewpub. Smells like burnt rubber tires, or maybe burnt out clutch. Yuck. Rubbery, chemical flavor, with a mild chocolate. Low carbonation, a bit nutty in the finish. A bit of an odd-ball beer. I appreciate the effort, I guess. JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 18, 2009
Dark brown beer with a thin tan head. Aroma is lightly phenolic as well. A bit of earthy chocolate in the nose. Malty sweetness with more caramel obvious through the middle. Slightly astringent toward the back of the palate. The body is initially full-bodied, but it seems to thin the more of it you drink. It’s okay, but it’s no brown ale....

Draft. Pours deep brown with a thin beige head. Light sweet malt aroma with a hint of roast. The flavor has a nice sweet/roasted malt balance with a hint of hops in the finish. fredandboboflo (1570) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 21, 2009
Tap at the brewpub. Aroma of smoke, sweet malt, coffee. Flavor has a hint of chocolate, more smoke, sweet malt. A touch sweet, but not disastrously so. joshwilfong (1200) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - JAN 26, 2009
dark brown with white head. flavor of some chocolate malt, not much depth. dry finish that leaves a somewhat acidic aftertaste. pretty standard brown. ordinary at best LilBeerDoctor (3904) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 10, 2009
On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a pretty thick tan head. Aroma of sweet malt. Flavor of crystal malt, roasted malt. Sessionable, certainly, but this is TOO sweet (a common theme among Nodding Head beers it seems...).

Pretty good for a brown. Simple, clean, and easy to drink. I’m really impressed by how flawless Nodding Heads brews are, meaning no off-flavors in sight. I could drink this all night.
