Draft at the source. Beautiful clear ruby color, almost flat. Aroma of sweet port or dessert wine, plums. Taste is sweet and lightly spiced plums. tcane7 (1674) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 7, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 8, 2013 Draft at Nodding Head. Pours a clean deep reddish amber with very thin head, no lacing but a leggy oil slick runs down the glass after each sip. Aroma of mainly spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, Belgian candi sugar, honey, dark fruits, banana. Sweet and warming, boozy but it doesn’t feel quite 11%. I really enjoyed this. Somewhat akin to a Monks Blood with Mad Elf spice...or maybe I’m drunk. r464 (2362) - Earth, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 13, 2012
Ruby brown in color with an off white head. Strong, dark fruit flavor (plum, cherry, raisin) with a bit of sweetness and a bit of bitterness in the finish. Very strong and nice overall. blipp (9502) - La Mesa, California, USA - JAN 18, 2010
Draft. Pours unclear amber orange with an off white head. Fruity sweet aroma with some lighter spicy notes. The flavor is yeasty and bready, with sweet fruity notes and background spices. Decent. michael-pollack (4959) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 28, 2009
Draught at Nodding Head: Aroma of Belgian yeast, Belgian pale malt, slight spice, light fruit, and slight alcohol. Poured orange in color with a medium-sized, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Hazy. Slightly sparkling. Fair lacing. Flavor is medium to heavily sweet. Tastes of alcohol, Belgian yeast, and a hint of spices. Medium body. Slightly thin, slick texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, Belgian yeast, and pale Belgian malt finish.

draft at bigwood. pours a hazy toffeed medium amber. big sharp lacto bomb nose. medium, slightly creamy body but entirely still due to wood and acid. lots of lacto on the mid palate. mild bitey acidic finish. fredandboboflo (1570) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 21, 2009
Tap at the brewpub. Aroma of sweet, malt, sugar, some spices, maybe some pear and plum as far as the fruits go. Flavor again very sweet with occasional fruity and spicy notes, but basically just sweet at the end of the day. Heavy mouthfeel. Not stellar. BCTCWC. Pours a deep dark amber, slight haze and a thinning head. Aroma is tons of fruity esters, plum, raisin, apple, and apricot- sharp sweet caramel and dark crystal malts with a sharp spicy phenolic kick. Flavor has that sharp twang goig on from over the top sweet sharp crystally malts, and overload of fusel and fruity esters- spicy as well- black pepper adn almost a cardamon and licorice hit in the end- earthy and leathery in the middle but overall just too much going on here and it seems jumbled together. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep amber with a very small head. Aroma of melon rind, yeast, spices. Flavor is very sweet and melony, not very good and kind of odd. This is one of those poorly brewed Belgians and it should be avoided.

Pretty damned delicious Belgian Ale. Clean esters with beautiful fruit and spice notes. Clearly fermented to perfection, with great balance of sweet and spice. Creamy and full in the mouth. My favorite and Nodding Head.
