Draft, at Nodding Head on 7/24/09. Pours brownish-amber, topped with a small off-white head. Aroma is nice and a bit hop-forward, with notes of citrus nicely balanced by toffee, caramel, and fruit. Flavor exhibits nice balance as well; with good interplay between toffee, caramel, lemon and grapefruit. Citrus lingers on the palate. Very tasty, and quite easy to drink.

(10/19/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in Philadelphia. Clear amber color. Aroma of hops with some grapefruit and lemon hints. flavor has nice hoppy tones with some peach and citrus, and a malty, a bit biscuity, background, with some caramel. Draft - part of sampler at brewery. Pours a orange/red/amber color with a 1+ finger white head. Aroma is floral, citrus, dough and a little caramel. Flavor is mild malts with a nice dose of floral & citrus hops. Probably my favorite of the sampler. Very drinkable. Could session this quite nicely.

Firkin at Capone’s. Served at room tempature. Cloudy orange body with thin head. Aroma has a citrusy, malty, caramel aroma. Flavor has a slight hop bitterness, a little soapy. Draft at Capone’s. The pour is medium copper with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of citrus, buttery diacetyl, caramel malt, lemongrassy notes, hops. Draft at Capone’s. Poured a clear copper color with an average white head. Aroma is balanced with some caramel malt and cirusy hops. Flavor is well balanced and this ESB goes down nice and smooth. Excellent session beer.
