Aroma is a bit sour, sweet and lively. Dark brown in colour, with LOTS of sediments in bottom of glass. Taste is not very much of anything, pretty well balanced between sweet and bitter. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Light body and fizzy palate. Arve_Christian (5225) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 8, 2013
On bottle at Vinnonopolet Økern, ABV 9%. Brown color, ok foam . Immediate malty, dried fruits, figue & good yeast influence- also some light honey notes . Medium/ full body & complexity . Some sweetness - good balance. Very enjoyable

750ml bottle. Hazy amber-brown with thin off-white head. Spicy aroma, caramel, plum, dried apples, cinnamon, heavy on the Belgian yeast (doughy). Sweet-leaning and mild -- taste doesn’t keep pace with the strong aroma. Dry and light. Small, bitter finish. Iphonephan (7486) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - DEC 22, 2012

I runde syv på den store juleøltesten ombord på Fridtjofen des-12: den mørke fargen til tross var den lys i smaken. Meget smaksrik og med god drikkbarhet.

Pours a dark reddish brown with a small head. Diffuse aromas of dark fruits and dark malts. Something metallic also. Fruity in the mouth, dark malt, dried fruits, some balsam. Some unbalanced sweetness - a bit syrupy. OK Belgian Christmas beer although somewhat one dimensional. Gerbeer (4158) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 27, 2012
750 ml bottle. Pours clear dark brown with light head. Aromas of roasted malt, licorice, and burnt sugar. Vinous and musty. Flavors of stewed dark fruit, wine vinegar, fresh tobacco, and spices. Not really a stand alone beer. Drink with your Christmas pudding. Aaron68 (608) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 20, 2012

Pours dark brown with a nice tanned head. Smells of port, glühwein, malts, christmas spices and caramel. Taste is heavy sweet, quite malty, some yeast characters and roasty caramel. Light to moderate bitter finish. A good vintage bottle, some nice oxidation notes, quite balanced and smooth. I like the spices and port tones alot.
Tap. Pours deep dark drown with a red tint and an average off-white head; short retention and some lacing. Aroma is dark fruit, slightly sours, earthy hops, and vanilla. Flavor is balanced malt and esters with light hops; sweet finish. Medium body, light carbonation, and medium warmth.
