Man what a great imperial porter. Takes me back to the first one I ever had. Aroma was so so. Deep dark chocolate with just a hint of coffee. Pour was a think ink back with a thin tan ring for a head. Taste was delicious. Strong dark chocolate with heavy black licorice flavors. Very big flavor. Strong bitter dark chocolate with the rye coming out in the finish. It was just enough to be noticed and not overpowering. Medium carbonation. Can’t say enough about this one. Great for the style and in general

Bottle. Poured very dark black with a dark brown head. Coffee, burnt sugar, toasted bread and a nice herbal aroma and flavor do a number on your senses. Thick, smooth mouth feel. We just started seeing them in Ohio and can’t wait to try more of their stuff

Very good, better than the prototype version. Some caramel, booze, chocolate. Classic in taste despite the rye. Finishes light bitter with some sweetness. Dark brown/black with ok head and lacing. Tap at Churchkey.

Pours murky black with a modest head, I’d prefer more of it on top though. Sweet barley on the nose (or perhaps that’s rye), oiliness, hints of licorice. Flavour is strong meaty rye with a spicy twang on the back end, some burning from the alcohol. Dry finish. Meaty and heavy. Pretty good.
