3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught pour from Churchkey in DC. Pours dark brown with a finger of tan head. Nose of roast, chocolate, a bit of grain and rye. Some dark fruits and nuts. Taste is rye, dark malts, and roast. A bit of added sweetness. Lighter body. Best thing I’ve had with Terrapin’s name on it in a while.
50cl Bottle @ LaBIRRAtorium, Madrid, Spain.
Black colour with a thin tan head.
Aroma is roasted malt, milk chocolate, hints of coffee.
Taste roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, hints of rye, slightly boozy.
Medium to full body, soft carbonation. MelvinKalksma (1536) - NETHERLANDS - JUL 5, 2017

Medium aroma of malts, caramel, chocolate, mocha, bread and roasted malts.
Opaque dark brown/black beer with medium yeast and with a slight/medium beige head.
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, chocolate and mocha; ends slightly bitter and dry with bread and roasted malts.
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Great amount of chocolate and a decent batch of roasted malts at the end. Thanks to that rye, there is some (dark) bread somewhere in there. Perfect appearance and a great palate as well, but the aroma could have been stronger.
Pitch black. Nice, rich, smooth, roasted chocolate, heavy malty, chocolate, caramel, light to moderately hoppy. Taste use moderately sweet with bitter and long finish. Medium boyd, oily and creamy texture, average carbonation. In overall nice, sweet and little spice. crazy_cat_lady (601) - - JUN 23, 2017
Bottle from LCBO. Lovely sweet aroma of chocolate, coffee, roastiness, berries. Very dark with tan head. Tastes of coffee, chocolate, the rye comes through, but it’s not overpowering. Rye is not my favourite thing in a beer, but it’s nicely balanced here. kraddel (8172) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - JUN 8, 2017
bottle at beerlovers bar. Pours dark, 99 % black, small grey head. Smell is very full, coffee / roasty, very mild red fruits. creamy, rye, even though i’m not convinced i’d be able to name that blindly. Taste is very full, intense body. The rye shines trough nicely. This grainbeer is in perfect balance ! Still get some very distant red fruits. Chewy ending, thick body, very nice carbo. A very surprisingly good beer !

Black with medium creamy brown head. Bread aroma. Soft remarkable bitterness with roasted grain and the bread notes with moderate kvass type sweet-sourness on the background. Lasting bitter aftertaste. brewberg (10) - Drammen, NORWAY - MAY 18, 2017
The most interesting part of this ale for me was the clear (but subtle) traces of cereal (I guess this is the rye) and hay in the finish. Throughout the most prominent taste is of licorice, but also caramel/toffee and resin.
Dark brown/black with a nice and white-brownish head. Small head, but (even though it is smaller) it doesn’t disappear.
Sweet, but it is balanced out by a brutal bitterness. The intense kick doesn’t last for long, so it doesn’t ruin the balance overall and is just an interesting (and tasty) feature of the ale.
Bitter and sweet, with a little acidity to it. The foam ruins the ale a little though, as it seems to be growing in the mouth.
A delicious ale, tastes like how I imagine tar tastes like.

Super good Imperial Porter. Aroma is complex yet clean and enjoyable with tobacco a hint of anise some roast coffee and and a bit of leather. Flavor’s much like nose, slight sweetness dominates but there is some Carbonic Tang end bitterness to balance making it a very drinkable beer and super smooth period body is very good and finish is perfect. Versée excessivement huileuse, mousse beige épaisse à bulles fines, brune très foncée avec quasiment aucune transparence... Jolie ! Un must ! Bouteille 33cl, Boissons du Monde, Saint-Egrève.
