COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our 100th batch, brewed for the enjoyment of the brewers, but popular demand forced us to release it commercially. Most enjoyable in a comfortable chair in front of a roaring fire.

Recommended serving temperature 16°C/61°F Ingredients: Maris Otter, wheat, and chocolate malt; Columbus, Chinook, and Centennial hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

23,5°P, 80 IBU, 10% ABV.

Editor’s note: Even though the label says "Barley Wine" in the States, the brewery usually says it’s brewed to be an IIPA. The American label was supposedly a glitch. In Europe it’s sold as an IIPA. But to save the admin crew some time dealing with user feedback, it’s listed as a Barley Wine.

W aromacie nie do końca taki prosty Barley Wine. Są tony toffi, ale również chmielowe, naftowe przebłyski. Smak bogaty, głównie toffi, trochę niby jakiejś beczki. Goryczka alkoholowo-chmielowa. Świetne piwo do wypicia na pół ;)

Bought @ Bierhalle Deconinck.
Very nice aroma with caramel and hops. Taste is caramel, chocolate but still hoppy. Huge on malt. Very nice combination. Average carbonation. Palate is full and creamy. Aftertaste is lingering with caramel and some bitterness.

500ml bottle. Brewed 11.08.16. Pours reddish brown colour. No head. Dark fruits, caramel, toffee, notes of apples, berries in the aroma. Caramel, notes of brandy, notes of dark fruits, bitter, grassy notes in the taste. Bitter notes, notes of alcochol in the aftertaste. Rather medium bodied, bit sharp, slightly fruity barleywine.

It pours dark brown and has a light brown head. Head retention is low. It has a high aroma of malt and chocolate. There are some moderate plum aromas It has a light earthy element and some wood. There are also a bit of molasses notes. The are many rich malt flavors that include toffee, molasses, and bread. There are also some plum notes and chocolate with a bit of wood. It has a full body that is not quite chewy, but is thick on the palate. The carbonation is low. There is a pleasant alcohol warming element as well. Overall, there are a lot of malt flavors with some supporting elements in the back ground highlighted by chocolate, bread, toffee, and molasses with a strong plum character.

Bottle from Oslo airport duty free - thanks Rachel! A blockbuster beer which I opened with great anticipation. Pours a dark brown with a foamy tan head. Rich, malty aroma with velvety dried fruits on the nose. Lots of dried fruit and date flavours with notes of caramel, chocolate, leather, tobacco, booze and vanilla. Very strong, very sweet and very bitter. The taste is massive and really fills the mouth. The bitterness would be too powerful if it was not offset by the caramel sweetness. There is a slightly harsh quality in the aftertaste, but otherwise, this is a one of the best beers that I have tasted.

Bottle roughly 10 years old. The aroma is malt, caramel, dates and licorice. Pours a dark golden brown with minimal tan head, mostly lasting and excellent lacing. The taste is a little sweet then a little bitter. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation soft and the finish long. Very Good, was scared it wouldn't hold up for this long, very good flavors, hints of chocolate, coffee, some licorice and vanilla.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2017 Po 2 latach jak nie dłużej doczekało się swojej chwili. Smak ułożony w dobrą stronę, pełny złożony i leciutko grzejący. Goryczka średnia, przyjemna dająca kontrę do słodkiego pomarańczowo pralinkowego smaku i aromatu. Wysycenie średnie barwa ciemno-złota. Idealnie dojrzałe piwo z fantastycznie schowanym alkoholem i złożonym smakiem.

Mooie caramelkkeur met een goede kraag. Ruikt vol, zacht, zoetig, vanille, crème, beetje alcohol. Smaakt vol vanille, houtig, alcohol, kruiden. Tikkeltje bitter. Volle alcohol afdronk.
