ABV: 4.5% RateBeer rating: 81 Calories: estimated at 300 C Volume: 16.9 fl oz. Glass: dimpled mug Purchased at: Canals in Burlington (thanks, Mike!) Price: $5.41 Consumed at: home First Impression: Typical brown ale, which is surprising, considering Nogne 0 and Canal’s in Burlington. Aroma is faint and a bit chocolate. Visuals are clear carbonated and brown with a very persistent head but no lace. Taste is simple, average brown ale - good hop depth, simple taste signatures. Palate is a medium finish and a hoppy bite. Second Impression - about average for a brown ale, and surprisingly, better examples exist outside of Nogne 0’s offering here. 50cl bottle from De Bierkoning, Amsterdam and poured into a snifter at home on 5-Nov-2016. Dark brown with a medium sized thick bean coloured head. Aroma of cocoa, malt and pine. Medium body and high carbonation. Taste of chocolate, roasted malt and hops. Light bitterness. A pretty good and hoppy brown ale.

I'd say while not a favourite, not too far off. A solid brown ale with excellent malty flavours. From the bottle in Norwegian hotel bar. Probably should have had it before the pale ale as the hops in that tended to overpower. A good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Dark brown colour, small head. Aroma is chocolate, some malt and some roasted malt. Taste is dominated by chocolate, like a cheap chocolate pudding almost (weird for a beer I think), some malt and some licorice. Not impessed.

50 cl, bottle conditioned. Lovely dark red-brown colour, Ruby in front of a light bulb, low visible carbonation. Restrained aroma of coffee and dark chocolate, sweet and roasted at the same time. Mouthfeel is dry and well carbonated, some hop bitterness. Flavours of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee and caramel. Long aftertaste. Great craft beer that has been around for quite some time now.
