Dark orange color, very hazy, with a huge thick white head. Hopy aromas of tangerine, citrus, some orange, maybe some spices. Bitter taste with citrus, lemon, orange, mango, tangerine, some spicy notes from the rye, and maybe some dankness. Nice aftertaste, long. Body was medium but carbonation was a bit too high! Still a nice brew! drsordr (2662) - Loveland, Ohio, USA - OCT 19, 2014
Bottle pour dark brown copper with thick tan head. Nose mostly dank hop and caramel malt. Faint citrus. Taste grapefruit bite up front then floral sweetness. I get some of the mandrian then the dank hop returns mid palate Bov (12636) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - OCT 18, 2014
from Mondial de la Bière 2013, Mulhouse - fully cloudy brown beer under a long lasting beige foam; solid hoppy aroma of resin, mandarines and black berries; full-bodied, some swetness, tasty and fairly bitter; light dry and with a long fruity hoppy finish (tangerines, berries and citrus) - superb northropfrye (3628) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - AUG 12, 2014
Dark reddish brown body with loads of sediment and off white head. I assume this is not a fresh bottle but I can’t find the bottling date anywhere. Warm citrus hop aroma, also nice breadiness. Taste is a touch of bitter grapefruit, lime, with a very smooth palate. Would like to try this again fresher, as it was quite nice even with this old bottle.
A nice IPA. Pours kind of an ugly brown with sediment... The nogne way. Aromas of caramel, pine, and orange. Flavors are sweet and caramel forward at first then a balanced and lasting bitterness finishes it off. Nice. Strykzone (7364) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - MAY 22, 2014
Bomber. Caramel brown and opaque with a tan head. Visually this could pass for a brown. A pleasant aroma of citrus and floral with passion fruit. The flavor brings those out and bitterness is a bit above moderate. Lime is tasted and it brings a unique element. There is a heavy dose of caramel but the fruit is in charge. Some mint and spice. This is borderline imperial and perhaps should be in that category. The finish was a little hot but it was also flavorful and had a bit of an attitude. nimbleprop (8386) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - APR 30, 2014
4oz pour at Churchkey’s Nogne O Tap Takeover. Pours a clear, burnt orange with some cream colored head. Smells like homebrew, heavy citrus peel, dusty, musty, tangerine, some grapefruit pulp. Flavor is similar, lightly sweet, lightly tart, musty, grassy, orange, grapefruit, a little curry powder. Creamy and astringent finish. Yes, both creamy and astringent. Very odd. Reminds me too much of average home brew.
