COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There is so much fun involved in creating Dark Horizon. Once it ferments, everyone in the brewery are very enthusiastic and pay close attention. Is the yeast still active? Is everything OK? How does the flavours evolve? Dark Horizon is normally dark and velvety. Muscovado sugars provides good fruity aromas. The coffee is a chapter on its own. The green beans will first be treated alfa amylase, an enzyme brewers enjoy working with. Then we mash the green beans before drying and roasting them. This gives it the unique flavor Dark Horizon deserves. Share Dark Horizon with someone you think deserves it.

Bottle gift from SJ. I had the first edition of this and I am happy to say while tyhis is different, it still rocks. I like the addition of the heavy roast and moleasses. I still find it smooth, but with a bit more characteristics.

Poured from a bottle it is a black.beer with an ecrue head. It has the aroma of Bourbon and the taste is of roasted coffee and Bourbon. It has a strong chill after radre that resonated on the palate

Bottle 25 cl. Now this is beer. Taste of roasted coffee, roasted malts, wood, smooth. Never drunk beer this strong with alcohol this well hidden. A brew that would suit pohjolan pidot.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2013 Thx! to Kraddel. 25 cl. bottle sampled. Packaging is impecable. Pours lighter black with bordeaux hue, little head. Nose is very heavy, booze, syrup, molasses, almost vineous, brutal, soy, caramel, toffee, brutal. Taste is heavy on soy sauce, burned coffee, bitter roast, lots of coffee, booze, heavy roast, bitter roast, herbs, lots of bitter cold coffee, bitter, almost burning, herbs,... Totally flat. Nice but def. not on par with #3 & a bit too simple.

Nip bottle. Poured inky black with a dusting of dark tan head. The aroma picked up a heavy blend of dark fruits, brown sugar, peppery rye, and fresh, greener coffee beans.. alcohol warmth certainly warmed up the nose, but it didn’t get in the way.. well done. The flavor opened with fresh black pepper and roasty, slightly sour coffee beans.. licorice, coffee, and roasted dark grains on the middle.. touches of vanilla, oak, and stone fruit on the edges.. finished peppery and warm, with syrupy coffee and tasty dark fruit.. warmed up the belly quickly. Heavy-bodied with low-ish carbonation on the palate.. syrupy.. this was really good.

Bottle from Beer Revolution. Pours dark brown with a tiny tan head and a pleasantly strange aroma that seems to have some treacle, a bit of coffee and some dark fruit. There is a rich almost indescribable flavor with extremely dark molasses, sugar, maybe coffee, dark fruit and who knows what else. delicious.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours very dark brown with tan bubbles. Aroma is sort of alcohol and treacle. With fruit and heat burn on the tongue. Develops some coffee. Finishes not quite dry and somewhat bitter. Flavors are strong, simple, yet hard to describe.
