3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark amber, almost brown, with nice thick almost tan head, lots and lots of lacing. Aroma balanced hops, slight citrus, huge malt backbone almost balances the hops, and a bit of dried fruit. Flavor matches well with the addition of some caramel and spices. Body is a heavy medium with a nice pleasant bitter aftertaste. Solid DIPA, but nothing special.
September 12th, 2014 - None’s Double IPA comes my way via Japan, where I purchased it at a reputable bottle shop near Gakushuin University. The traditional two red dots on the logo have been cleverly replaced with kanji, harkening me back to February when I absconded with this brew back to the States. Muddy and bubbly, this brew looks like liquefaction of soil in an earthquake, rumbling with sediment and gases. And the aroma is full of vitality, leading with a torrent of chocolate, but accompanied with rivulets of fig, blueberry, cocoa, pine boughs and raspberry jam. The whole effect reminds me of dark and creamy dubbel beers of days gone by. The aroma is also full of vim and vigor, with a spice and kick up front, and a select, mild hop dimension. Those bubbles I spotted before are keen to skate across the tongue, ensuring even distribution of the flavors, which are somewhat less complex than the aroma (not surprising, I suppose, given the science of the olfactory), absent of some of those subtler notes on the nose. nybol (2201) - DENMARK - MAY 19, 2016
I drank this beer yesterday in Lausanne in one of my friend flat.It is a good beer, yellow and copper color, average carbonation. The taste is light for a double IPA malty, few caramel, citrus, hop, easy to drink. ngeaney (97) - SWEDEN - AUG 30, 2015
Nøgne Ø Dobbel IPA is the first Nøgne Ø beer I tasted back in 2008.
Murky amber chestnut brown in colour. Aroma/flavour was malty, bready, some fruits like raisins and figs. Strong caramel and toffee aroma and flavour with some hops character still remaining but more towards resin from pine. Very rounded in body, medium and very easy to drink. radiomgb (2686) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 30, 2014
500ml bottle purchased at Knightly Spirits in Orlando, Florida. Murky brown in colour with a large long lasting off-white head, excellent lacing. Aroma is quite hoppy, sweet, lots of caramel malts, some alcohol. Flavour is warming, lots of sweet caramel, grapefruit citrus, alcohol. Warming mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, hot, lots of caramel. Nice, alcohol never overpowers this. Fairly good balance.

"a unique fruity sweet twist (but with more than enough hopping and bitterness @100 ibus) after 3 other ipas. you could smell and taste the pilsner malt, very prominent. 5 hops. honey and grapefruity spicy hops." motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - SEP 7, 2014

Rated on 5-07-2009 (Bottle from Crown Liquors in Carmel, IN) This beer’s Apperance is a frothy, fizzy ivory head with a long retention, slow rising carbonation, and a reddish orange brown body hue. The Aroma is malty, citrus and pine hops, caramel, and fruity. The Taste is citrus, pine and grapefruit hops, malty, fruity and bitter. The Palate is tingly and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer is most quaffable, is a hopheads delight, and worth trying. A little bit too bitter tasting for my liking. Iphonephan (6989) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - MAY 19, 2013
