Waxed bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours very dark brown with a slight dark tan had. Aroma is very toasted coconut. Notes of "brandy" and vanilla. Med + body. Flavor is chocolate "brandy", toasted coconut, bourbon/vanilla, and almost something like smoke. Heat is not really noticeable. Far from dry. Far from bitter. Excellent. 330 ml bottle from Etre Gourmet, bottled 23.02.17
Black, oily body, with tiny, dissipating, coffee-colored head.
Dense, complex aroma of bourbon, wood, melting dark chocolate, coconut, vanilla, almond, sweet spices, coffee, dark fruits, sherry, subtle booze.
Taste is as amazing, also very complex, with similar sweet, wooden, roasty, fruity notes, but also subtle leather and tobacco, still not that much booze.
Medium, oily mouhfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes warm, medium sweet, moderate roasty, a bit dry, wooden, with dark fruits, bourbon, chocolate, coconut, sweet spices, some tobacco, lovely lingering barrel notes.
Delicious, complex stuff! The balance is outstanding, there is some booze, but really not as much as the ABV suggests, doesn't drink too heavy. More on the sweet side, while there is enough underlying dry roastiness and there is so much going on. Outstanding example of a barrel aged Imperial Stout, where the barrel isn't an overwhelming gimmick, but improves the base beer.
0,33l bottle at home. Bottled 23.02.2017. black color, very small coffee colored head. smells boozy, I assume armanagc, bourbon, earthy, light smoky, some dark fruits, berry notes, light blueberries, cinnamon, vanilla, light coconut. very lovely smell, especially after it warms up a bit. full body, no carbonation, slick moutfheel. tastes of dried fruits, lots of wood, bourbon, armanagc again?, some cinnamon, light vanilla, spices, chocolate, bit earthy. finishes lightly sweet with notes of barrels, cinnamon and vanilla. very nice complexity, very smooth to drink. love the cinnamon / vanilla notes, beer works very good with some dark chocolate. overall great stuff. marcus (10740) - Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 5, 2017
Shared by my friend Charlie at Cap Tap. Pours near black with a nice tan head and a treacle and bourbon aroma. There is a full-bodied dark molasses flavor with a very tasty vanilla and bourbon finish. Warm alcohol trail.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Kvadrat. Enjoyed at Gunnarsbu. Pours black, small tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, barrel, dark roasted malts, soy sauce, liquorice and tarish notes, more than inviting aroma. Taste of dark malts, moderate sweet vanillla, treacle and tar, bourbon and liquorice, boost and cognac, lovely slow sippin stuff this one, low carbonated, a very good blend Evilkniamhel (1046) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 2, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 3, 2017 Flaske fra vinmonopolet. Pours dark opaque black. Black as a black hole. Nose of raisins, sweet booze, molasses, oak, burnt orange, forest fruits. Taste is warm bourbon notes, burnt toffee, full bodied, maple syrup, boooooooze. jbruner (5401) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - AUG 27, 2017
Pours a deep brownish black from the small bottle with minimal head or lace. Aroma of big peaty smoke, mild vanilla oak, and lots of roasty chocolate malts. Taste follows, big on the scotch barrel, minimal coconut to me, big on the roast, and an overarching booziness. Not bad, but really intense. klm1 (1894) - Bled/SF, - AUG 10, 2017
Pours deep reddish black, opaque with creamy light brown head. Aroma: intense malt character, vanilla, vanillin, port-wine/sherry-wine/bourbon like alcohol note, dark fruit esters....flavor follows aroma: roasted grain, hint of caramel, toasted toffee, chocolate, hint of peat/smoked, coffee, cacao, supported with vanilla (also vanillin), woody notes, sherry-like, port wine like and straight bourbon alcohol note (but very well blended, never boozy!). Slightly dry finish. Full, almost thick body, smooth, almost creamy texture, moderate carbonation.
