500 ml bottle. Slightly hazy coppery orange colour, big white head. Sweetish aroma of wheaty malt, fruits, spices and hops. Wheaty-malty flavour, with citrus fruits and spices, and a nicely bitter hoppy finish. Foamy carbonation. Tasty. laiti (8374) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAR 21, 2012

Aroma is quite wheaty with some citrus and hints of orange peel. Flavour has lots of wheat too with some citrus, ripe banana and hints of spices. Palate becomes oily and somewhat sticky towards the end of the glass. A bit weird and stale, but good. Does not feel Belgian, more like Wheat Ale.
Pours deep copper with a high head. Aroma is malts. Flavor is mostly malts with some caramel and alcohol. Pretty good. Dermi (1182) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 20, 2012

Experimental cellaring attempt with this. Age hasn’t been good on this, somewhat toffee-like cardboard is the description I would use. Oh well, now I know better.

Pours hazy amber color with a huge foamy head. The beer was very eager to come out from the bottle as it was opened. Aroma of yeast, wheat, lemony fruits, mild spice notes and hops. Flavor of yeast, fruits, hay, herbs, mild spices and some caramel and banana. Decent.

Very aggressive bottle when opened, I must say. Pours a beautiful murky and hazy orange amber colour with a small foamy head, which collapses quickly. Aroma of sweet ripe banana, orange, wheat, yeast and some strong sweet toffee. Flavour of sweet malts and wheat, banana, yeast, floral hops, herbal spiciness and sweet toffee again. Medium bodied, quite foamy and thick mouthfeel and decent carbonation. Finishes bitter, fruity and sweet with some yeast. Some similarities with a Weizenbock. Tasty stuff.

Deep copper, red tinted tanned head. Smells of wheat, yeast, bubble gum and some alcohol. Tons of sweetness in taste, fruity flavors as well, also a heavy malty flavor, nice bitterness of hops, alot of bite in the finish. Quite thick feel, full bodied. A very nice seasonal as usual from NØ
Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Well I just can’t wait for the Easter ("Påske") holiday with a beer like this hanging around, so I’ll rate this now and focus on the pure enjoyment with the holiday actually comes around. :-) Pours a beautiful, slightly hazy solemn deep golden-amber body with a large, bubbly white head. Nice. Aroma is Belgian ale yeast (saison-like tones, almost), syrupy candy sugar-like sweetness, pineapple, flowers and subtle hints of pepper, citrus and grass in the back. Taste is lovely spicy floral sweet tones, with base pale malts blending in with dark syrupy caramel notes. Some mild citric hints in the aftertaste, most likely on account of the wheat. The hops don’t come out much, other than in the highly balancing of the sweetness, which is beckoning (for a sweet tooth-kinda guy like me, at least) without ever feeling overpowering. Some mild grassy touches in the back, though. Style-wise, this is like a Belgian blonde gone freestyling with the dunkel/bock tradition as well as dipping into the American amber ale landscape. Fascinating. Smooth mouthfeel, complex and yet utterly drinkable - this is the best beer I’ve had from Nøgne Ø in quite a while! :-) A shame the availability is so low for this super-nice creation, let’s hope they have time and space to make this a regular spring seasonal.
