Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with an absolutely huge tan head. Aroma of smoke, caramel, some hops. Taste is medium bitter, roasted, smokey. Dry finish. Well carbonated, medium bodied. JamesD (244) - Centreville, Virginia, USA - APR 17, 2012
An excellent beer. As a fan of rauchbiers, this one stood out from the rest. Pours a brown/black with a persistent head. The aroma is rich and smoky with a little sweetness. The flavor is crisp, clean, and smoky with just the right balance of malt and bitterness. Delicious. I will seek this out again. gunnfryd (14895) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - APR 8, 2012

A good beer. Peat right off the bad, although as many have pointed out it’s fairly tame, lightly tanic, balanced sweetness, easy to drink, light meatiness but more on the salty peat side. FunkyBrewster (1518) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 2, 2012
Bottle. Pours deep brown nearly black with a small white head. Aroma is fairly subdued, some meaty and basic grain notes, a bit leather and earthy. Flavor starts with a bit of cocoa and roast that is very subdued, picking up some earthy notes and the peat comes in strong, the scotch character coming through the finish and a lingering pipe tobacco. Medium body and a soft carbonation.

Pours a deep brown with a nice tan head and beautiful lacing. The nose is light smoke, dark chocolate and bacon. As it warms more earthy tones start to emerge. Taste follows the nose. Nice smoke and earthy characteristics. Clean and the slightly sweet nose does not come to the palate. Good, good beer. BoBoChamp (5755) - Gent, BELGIUM - MAR 25, 2012

hazy sepia-amber, large bubbled wispy small bubbled cream head. Light sugar, tar, chocolate. Flavor is sweet gum, orange, mid is meaty roast, finish shows more brown malt, no smoke anywhere. Ha, a smoked beer? ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - MAR 24, 2012
Not very smoky, lots of cola, some chocolate, light molasses . The beer is rather dry for the style, slightly acidic roast.
