From 50 cL bottle. Pours hazy brown with a red hue. Light brown creamy head. Aroma is malty sweet and dried fruit. Liqourice, sweet malty and slight bitter flavoured. Liqourice and bitterness makes the finish. Very nice. Ungstrup (37862) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAR 3, 2009
Bottled, vintage 2006, sampled 2009. A polished chestnut red-brown beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with nuts hitting you at first, then comes notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, and brown sugar. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel, nuts, and brown sugar, with aged vinous notes, probably due to it being 3 years old, and some roasted malt notes. The mouthfeel is very smooth with a medium carbonation, and leading to a dry and slighlty bitter finish, where some roasted notes of caramel and nuts lingers. joergen (28386) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 4, 2006

Bottled. Murky reddish brown colour with beigeish brown head. Leaves nice lace. Aroma is a lot of caramel, raisins, some licorice and spices. Flavour is very much the same with wood and freshly cut grass added. The alcohol gives a slight sweet touch to it. omhper (25246) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAY 23, 2006
[Bottled at Københavnske Øldage] Ruby. Small creamy head. Surprisingly neutral aroma. Sweet with a really solid body. There’s molasses and and intense flavours of roasty malt. When the flavours opens up it reveals cookie malt and licorice. Salty finish. I much prefer the non-imperialized version. Travlr (25187) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 29, 2010
500 ml bottle at DC local tasting. Brown color, small tan head. Aroma is caramel. Taste is rather plain. Needs more complexity. Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 9, 2007
(Bottle 50 cl) Hazy, reddish brown with a dense, beige head leaving laces. Fat, nutty nose. Rather full-bodied with lots of nuts and burned caramel - and also an edge of burned malt. The finish is dry and bitter. 080707 madmitch76 (24980) - , Essex, ENGLAND - FEB 3, 2013

Opaque dark brown beer, good cream - tan coloured head. Soft and light palate with fine carbonation. Creamy malt, little licorice. Hop bitterness kicks in but there isn’t much hops fruit here. Semi dry finish. Minerals.
