Nothing is like celebrating your own milestones. This is a celebration of our 500th batch of ale. It was brewed with joy and splendor; the brewer wore a suit, and a TV station filmed the event. As a base for this ale, we have elected to play with numbers: 5 hops, 100 IBUs, 10% alcohol by volume. Indeed it is an Imperial India Pale Ale. Big and bold. Great for a celebration!

DwarfeD (3513) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - MAY 26, 2017
Draught at Marktzicht, Amersfoort. Hazy dark orange with a small white head. Full body with low to moderate carbonation. Quite bitter with subtle fruity sweetness. Pine, tropical fruits, malts, caramel and spices. Tasty!

beer-yum (1706) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 13, 2017
Pine and malt aroma in a dirty orange brown pour. Hoppy balance is covered by a big toffeee caramel malt body which is sustained through the finish. Surprisingly easy to down - dangerously so. Probably better described as a TIPA though...

CurlyJoe (242) - AUSTRALIA - MAY 12, 2017
Cloudy orange with almost zero white head, lots of sediment. Big marmalade fruit aroma, citrus. Sweet taste, once again marmalade. Bitter fruit as you expect, however sweet fruit character is probably stronger than bitterness. Massive bitter hop hit, then smooths to allow lots of other hop flavour to come through. Booze is there, but not overpowering, compliments other flavours. Great beer for sipping, suprisingly refreshing. Sharp on the palate.

(Bottle) Reddish amber colour with dense, beige head. Malty, hoppy, slightly vinous nose with notes of treacle-toffee, resin, grapefruit, caramel, dried fruit, dates, pine needles, rye bread, some chocolate and liquorice. Malty, hoppy taste with resin, burnt rubber, toffee, dates, rye bread, chocolate, burnt sugar, orange peel, liquorice, tropical fruit and a slightly fiery finish with a generous resiny bitterness and a touch of alcohol. More than medium body, quite sweet. A bit boozy and slightly unbalanced, but really tasty with a generous hop presence. Very nice.

kaserov (738) - Oviedo, SPAIN - APR 25, 2017
Color dorado anaranjado, translúcido, con capa de espuma de un blanco amarillento de tres dedos de grosor (buena retención). Carbonatación media tirando a mínima.

homeini (271) - Warsaw, POLAND - APR 21, 2017
Uzupełnienie z notatek. Pite z kranu w Piw Paw. Bardzo aromatyczne, ale ciężkie i troche za bardzo karmelowe. Piłem po pięćsetce z tego samego browaru, może dlatego nie zrobiło już takiego wrażenia.

AaronIPAAPA (221) - Warsaw, POLAND - APR 20, 2017
Potężna goryczka skontrowana potężną słodowością. Sporo ciała. Bardziej american barley wine niż imperial ipa. Ocena na podstawie notatek pisanych przed założeniem konta na RB.

Tranquillity (2327) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 18, 2017
Bottled. Golden red hazy body, small off-white head. The aroma has pine, nuts, cognac, oak, vanilla. The taste is gentle with hints of tropical fruits. Plenty of oak and vanilla with a sweet finish.
