Bottle @ tasting. Many thanks, tomschijns! Oily black colour, dark brown foam. Syrupy texture. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee, chocolate and warming alcoholic finish. Very well blend with the cognac. Fantastic stout! kappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - AUG 28, 2014
Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass dark black, nice head. Starts heavy malty, stouty, earthy-malty. Notes of coffee and bitter chocolate. Warming-alcoholic. Intense malty finish. A good one! Stuu666 (13425) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 3, 2014
Bottle at Craig’s. Pours black, nose is chocolate, liquorice, fruity, taste is sweet, rich and a lot of booze. McTapps (6889) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - JUN 7, 2014
Bottle from Cuso - thank you so much, Imro! The beer pours out in a deep black colour with low head and smooth body. Aroma of dried fruits, malt and strong alcohol. Wonderful taste of prunes, chocolate, barley, malt, torf, wood, oak, dried fruits and plums. Finish of dark plums and barley. Great beer. MichaelAwesome (6519) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - JUN 7, 2014
Thick piwo with a big loads of plums and other ripe fruits. In the end there is some big alcohol and roasted malt. High quality brew with a balanced end.

250ml bottle with best before date of 17/7/17. A short lasting small sized coffee coloured head crowns an opaque black body. Notes of burnt sugar, caramel, booze, dark chocolate, coffee beans, and dried dark fruits on the nose. Palate is thick and smooth with soft carbonation and bittersweet flavours with an alcoholic burn and faint dry smokiness to the finish. One for slow after dinner contemplation.

Bottle. Very black, almost no head. Complex aroma, mostly reminiscent of a sweet big stout. Thick mouthfeel, little/low carbonation. Lots of flavors here, and a very long aftertaste. Everything from strawberries to soy sauce is present here, and I find it difficult to put my finger on specific flavors. But let’s try: chocolate, coffee, soy sauce, wood, roasted nuts, smoked meat... and more. Delicious. tderoeck (9724) - Gent, BELGIUM - MAR 3, 2014

28/II/14 - 25cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: 17/VII/17 (2014-227) Thanks to Klaas for sharing the bottle!
Note: tasted side by side with the regular version.<b/>
Pitch black beer, small creamy beige to brown head, little stable, dissipates quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, lots of chocolate, mocha, caramel, dried fruits, cocoa powder, roasted stuff, sweet touch. MF: soft to no carbon, full body. Taste: sweet start, bit sourish, fruity, red fruits, berries, cognac, some alcohol, mocha, some coffee. Aftertaste: hoppy touch, sweet caramel, cocoa powder, dried fruits, mocha, coffee, sugary touch. I prefer the regular version.
250 ML bottle
Kept the best aspects of the Imperial stout. Lots of roast and chocolate, quite dry and oily and added the dimension of oak and subtle notes of cognac. Much bigger than the 9% leads on. Full on beer
