NORSAND (75) - Lillestrøm, NORWAY - JUN 29, 2016
Amber colour. Nose: Grass, pine, some grapefruit, Taste: In the arrival pine, sweet citrus and some honey like sweetness. Slightly nutty. Medium to medium rich body. The exit has a nice, hoppy bitterness combined with a smoky element (hints of cigar). The aftertaste is mainly bitter grapefruit, lingering for a while but lasting less than a minute. Tasted alongside 7Fjell’s Ulriken IPA which is quite similar but drier, spicier and slightly fruitier than Nøgne Ø.

Looks like a proper IPA with a nice foam. Aroma is a little earthy with citrus. Taste is also quite earthy, very bitter with grape fruit and dried peaches, Full bodied. Quite thick, very much like a double IPA. Very good.

[email protected], from Alko Anttila, Tampere, Finland. Medium/strong aroma/taste product with balanced and soft nuances of bit sour fruits like overaged mango and green apple. Medium/low carbonation. Overall, distinctive, strong, bit too sour. Still high quality.

Hazy, orange/brown colour and a small, white head. Surprisingly malty aroma, sweet brown sugar, caramel, orange. Seems to be missing most of the IPA characteristics altogether? Taste on the other hand is more familiar, really hoppy right in the beginning but it’s not that sharp. Dry hoppy finish. Mouthfeel is thick and smooth, really foamy and rich body. Very good IPA although it seems more like double IPA at some areas. Nevertheless, highly recommended!
