Fruktøl skal være surt. Ordentlig surt.

From tap. Pours a deep hazy red color with a beautiful pink head that stays for a long time. I must say the appearance is outstanding. Aroma is very typical kriek, sour cherries and some mild grain and a bit of marzipan. Taste is quite sour, a little less cherry flavor than I prefer, but a damn solid fruit beer.

Parallel rating of 2014, 2015 and 2016 vintages
Deep red body with a pink, long-lived head that laces the glass well. Strong aroma of cherries and caramel in all three editions. The 2015 vintage also has a touch of perfume, it’s light floral and somewhat grassy, bordering on hoppy. In the 2016 vintage, on the other hand, the cherries are almost completely drowned in diacetyl. Strong flavour that follows the aroma. The 2015 vintage has a moderate to light acidic taste, while the 2014 vintage is considerably more acidic. The 2016 vintage is close to the acidity level of the 2015. All three are light and dry on the palate. I’m not sure if I like 2014 or 2015 best: 2014 has a lovely acidity that really bites, while the flavour of the 2015 is more complex. I end up with 3.2 for both 2014 and 2015, while the drain-pour bottled in 2016 gets a 1.9.

Bottle at Erzbierschof Monday Club. Pours hazy dark pinkish red. Aroma of strong sour cherries, yet slightly tainted, stone fruit. Body is medium, fruity, sour and tart. Not so distinguished though. Still, very nice as a Kriek-style beer without being a kriek.

#6 at bastardas blindtasting - 02.12.2016 - bottle from Daniel - Tasting notes: obvious style: Kriek, forrest, sweet cherry juice, cinnamon, sour cherry, funk, Johannesbeer/Joster. This was a modern kriek. We located it first in scandinavia and then Norway, which was right.

kindly shared by Daniel @ Blind Tasting Dec.16; aromas of peach yogurt and redcurrants, taste of sour cherries. Very clean, simple and fresh, a true Nordic Kriek, with a touch of almost "terroir", with its tiny woody/earthy hints of Nordic forests. Lovely.

ALLOVATE (2961) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 9, 2016
Into a Lambic tumbler at just on chilled. Appearance of plum wine in its tawny crimson body, shy of bright. Appears still with a Quite subdued in the nose. Plummy, dark stonefruit, earth, oak timber, raspberry conserve and toasted bread oddly make up the aroma, but I had to delve deep. The sour cherries dominate the palate. It is tart, tight, astringent and sour whilst hosting the morello (?) cherry flavour well. Quite rough and abrasive, but holds it in control with the sour cherries. Body is light. Carbonation is foamy. Light touch of hessian, oak, grapeskins. Astringent and puckering. Really dries out the palate. I did like it, but it did lack harmony.
