We brewed this ale only with the famous sake yeast No. 7 from Masumi Sake in Nagano, Japan. On advice from Masumi’s master brewers we fermented this ale very slowly at low temperatures to bring out No. 7’s fabulously fruity character. This is a beer, but has some flavors found in a sake. A great combination!

8.5oz bottle. Poured an amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of some fruits, woody, earthy, yeast, and some caramel. Tastes of wood, caramel, yeast, wood, and spicy. Alcohol burn in the finish.

Meilby (11495) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 14, 2010
Bottle. Pours deep amber with a small white head. Aroma and taste has notes of caramel, vanilla and almonds and it gives you a nice warm feeling from the alcohol.

Zoney (144) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 13, 2010
Bottle from Vinmonopolet. Tasted at 1337 Beer #3 Wonderful play with beer, Sake yeast and magnificent taste. Don’t know how they made it so good the 2nd time i tasted it, a winner.

Balazs (787) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - NOV 7, 2010
On tap at the Mikkeller bar. Murky, with an amber-copper color and no head. Musty, spicey aroma with grapes, apple, cinnemon and caramel. Dense body with no carbonation. Sweet taste, just like candy. Strong, but the alcohol is well hidden. Sweet finish with a sourish kick. Very good!

hirigalzkar (3158) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 25, 2010
Bottle. Didn’t like this beer. Way to agressive in a alcholic way without any sweetness, hops or... anything really. Still a bit interesting in a monsterous way.

finol (3389) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 23, 2010
Bottle from Olbutikken. Pours amber red without any head, you can tell from the looks that it is heavy in alcohol. Calvados aroma of apples and alcohol. Heavy taste of apples, cellar (like in aged guezes but thick) and goji berries.

garza (573) - Oslo (NO), Caracas (VE), VENEZUELA - OCT 19, 2010
Pours amber red with a minimal tan head that disappears very fast. Strong sweet aroma of caramel and dry fruits. Remembrances of honey mjød. Round and heavy taste with raisins, caramel, concentrated fruits. Rich flavour, very alcoholic. Heavy cloying sweetness, lightly bitter. Full body, oily feel, flat carbonation and a long finish. Quite an experience.

armando629 (2456) - Budapest, HUNGARY - OCT 19, 2010
Tap at Mikkeller bar, Copenhagen.
Murky-cloudy deep amber oily liquid with a small tan head that diminishes quickly. Heavy, spicey aroma with caramel, casks and fruits, peach and honey with alcoholic raisins, vanila, some tartness like Brett...Thick body , oily like honey, smooth mouthfeel, complex texture. Vanilla and sweet caramel with a hard but well balanced resiny hop, alcohol with raisins, vinous oak casks. Alcoholic hop extract numbling the palate. Long tart and sweet and dry and complex aftertaste. What a beer is this???

mile (3947) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 18, 2010
Copper- amber, hazy, very small fully diminishing head. Moderate to heavy malty aroma, caramel and fruity with dark berries, some alcohol. Body is medium to full, flavor is malty and sweet caramel, fruity and dark berries, herbal hoppyness and licorice. Finish is moderate and malty, herbal hoppyness and some alcohol. Not really interesting BW, some herbal hoppyness though.
