Golden to amber brown in colour, roasted black peppercorn is all over the aroma, some fruitiness from the Belgium yeast strain. Quite fruity in aroma, pepper aroma is great, not at all like smelling black corns, not as stingy as one would expect, touches of caramel and toffee. Orange peel along with spice, sweetness from the malt, mild hoppy bitterness keeps this beer well balanced.

Flaske 0,5l fra Vinmonopolet Oslo Vika. Batch 871. På RV124 9 Mai 13. Mørk aprikosfarget. Raskt dalende skum. God ale-aroma. Mye kullsyre. Smaken har et forsiktig pepper-preg. Behagelig. Litt sedimenter.

Initially huge white head eventually dwindling over hazy light brown beer. Aroma intensity is medium, coarse hops, grass and hay dominating, some faint ripe fruit nuance, not as complex as hoped. Medium bodied, smooth on the palate, medium plus carbonation. Taste is more complex. Negatively for me, too much homogenous hops bitterness, but the malt and pepper are telling on the midpalate and a pepper burning actually lingers into the finish. Too bad it is overhopped it would have allowed for some more malt taste play.

Bottled. Pours hazy amber with an average, lacing off-white head. Aroma of slightly roasted malt, yeast, black pepper, citrus notes and caramel. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and bitter. Medium bodied, oily text. and soft carb. A nice brew.

500ml bottle from Bradleys, enjoyed over dinner with my girlfriend. Pours a cloudy ruby orange with a perfectly smooth white head and gorgeous lacing. An exquisite looking beer. Aroma is of candied tropical fruits, pleasant metallic notes similar to Deus, slighty perfumed fragrant fruitiness and just a touch of must. Taste is medium tropical sweetness, very light bitterness and a late spicy pepper flavour. Fruity and peppery finish, quite a distinctly belgian metallic touch, smooth carbonation and medium body. Very complex and unique beer, definitely worth a whirl.

Bottle from Nordisk Ölhandel, Copenhagen. Somewhat hazy amber/copper beer with a rich lasting beige/yellowish head. Floral spicy aroma, pepper, citrus, orange peels, bready, some wheat. Spicy peppery flavor that is kinda balanced, citrus, hay, grapes, floral, some earthy notes. Spicy finish where the pepper is more obvious.
