Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012: Mastig fatkaraktär, mycket het, ganska söt och med en tydlig fruktig/bärig eftersmak. tkrjukoff (4335) - SWEDEN - MAY 16, 2012

Dark amber with oiff white head - smoked malt aroma - tastes of smoked malt with some peat and wood - lingering smokey finish - nice Beese (3084) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 4, 2014
Draught at Mother Kelly’s, Bethnal Green on 30 August. Poured a really dark ruby, with a dense off white head. Huge aroma of peat, oak, iodine, caramel and Islay whisky. The mouthfeel was super smooth and light on the tongue. Complex flavours of burnt sugar, smoke, medicine and grain. Finnish was toffee with some cured meaty notes coming through, cheese and grain. Absolutely amazing beer!

Bottle from Saveur-Biere.com - Color: deep intensive dark brown beer with no carbonation and no foam. Smell: peat domination, oak notes. Full rich body, caramel hint. Taste: full body with peat malt balanced with woody notes. Full intensive body and quiet good attenuation. Woody notes, and peat. Aftertaste: oak barrel alcohol notes with peat and massive strong malt. OK. TheJestersBeer (2430) - SWEDEN - MAY 22, 2012

Dark brown with whisper of a tan head. Whirlwind of peat and woody plum, I could swirl this for hours without a sip. Big boozy slats of baked fruits, dampened by a watery coffee thread. Mouthfeel is the right side of syrupy and a oaky vanilla linger to match. A really impressive foot up on an already impressive brew.Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 15, 2012
Keg, North Bar, Leeds
Sample at Ølfestival 2012. Very dark amber with little head. Hard to put into words how woody this beer smells. Huge oak presence which I really did enjoy. To taste it is to be feasting on a pork product of some desciption with a big, drying, oaky bite at the end. It’s faintly musty and lemony too. Despite the big body it feels thin and watery at times. Maybe that’s just the effects of the oak and smoke messing with my senses. For all its oddities and inconsistencies I found it hard not to be impressed with this beer, and I’d gladly try some more. spacecube (1748) - Leeds, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - APR 23, 2013
On keg at North Bar, dark brown, only a small head, with a lovely thick palate with cherry, smoke, whisky and earthy oak. Nice and smooth.
