Dark caramel colour. Spicy-sweet aroma. Bitter taste with little drop of sweetness. Kellerstein (9) - Lynnwood, Washington, USA - OCT 20, 2011 does not count
I enjoy pumpkin ales that let the taste of the pumpkin come to the front without added spices to change the taste. Roasted pumpkin flavor is nice n the beer. I enjoyed this one and am glad I had the opportunity to enjoy it from a fresh tap so far from Norway. Alexus (244) - Stavanger, NORWAY - FEB 11, 2012
Tap @ Cardinal. Pours a really nice pale-tan head which leaves beautiful lacing as the beer "disappears". The color is clear deep amber. Aromas of toffee and caramel from the malts, maybe some spices if you put your mind into it. Complex taste that I can’t describe, but it’s not what I expected from a pumpkin ale. But it’s really good and balanced. Too bad it’s so limited as it’s a really good ale from Nøgne Ø. Cunningham (8527) - Halden, NORWAY - MAY 17, 2014

On tap @ Patrick’s, Kristiansand, only moments before the keg was empty and a lot of people’s smiles faded... :-S Also, it’s my first pumpkin ale AND my first beer at Patrick’s. Weeee! :-D Pours a hazy dark bronze body with a small white head. Nose is caramel, pumpkin, hints of white pepper and wet leaves. Taste is strong peppery herbal notes balanced by deep malty caramel tones, burnt toast and hints of pumpkin hidden way in the back. Not much of it really, but this is still a good beer. Full body and a high carb level which serves well to provide a fresh mouthfeel in what is otherwise a rather sweet beer. A perfect autumn ale; solid stuff from NØ. Too bad the mash was "super stuck", otherwise more people would be enjoying this around the world...
