Sweet Horizon is dessert for the ones with a sweet tooth. Black and velvety, with hints of sweet chocolate, fruit, coffee, licorice......... Hmmmm! But remember, this is dessert, so do not try to have dessert with it!

Jyrsa (970) - - FEB 18, 2017
Bottle with friends. Reddish black. Char, soy, alcohol. Super sweet with fudge, toffee, vanilla, wine yeast. A stuffy, sticky palate.

Tide (4497) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 16, 2017
Bottle from a friend. Black color, beige head. Sweet taste with syrup, soy sauce, toffee, a bit of coffee and vanilla. Sweet finish with chocolate, syrup, toffee, vanilla and coffee. Very nice brew.

JPDIPSO (6293) - Wauwatosa, USA - FEB 3, 2017
Dark brown with a brown ring of lace. Aromas start strong with licorice. As things settle, some coffee, dark chocolate, nutmeg, melon and vanilla scents come out. Thick and chewy feel. Perhaps a bit too cloying, but still enough effervescence to help it along. Spices seem to grab my attention from the very front. Mace and cinnamon. Lots of sweetness follow, with ripe fruit, chocolate, coffee (with more sugar). Some wood and a little prickliness in the finish. My ears are warm. 10/11

Scopey (15879) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 28, 2016
Mini bottled (aged for some time) at level 42. Thanks (I think) to Danny. It pours jet black with a tiny tan head. The aroma is rich, very sweet, sticky, uncutuous, loads of dried fruits, glacé cherry, sticky sugared plum, treacle and boozy liqueur. The taste is incredibly cloyingly sweet.... chewy, sugary, plum, port, jammy fruit, chocolate cake, liquorice, booze, syrup and caramelised sugars with a lingering sweet and sugary finish. Full body, fine carbonation and cloying mouth - feel. I can sweet why those with a sweet tooth may like this, but this is way, way too much for me!

The_Osprey (9343) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 24, 2016
December 2016 - Box and paper wrapped bottle shared from my rot box at 1 Canada Square. As Nøgne Ø Sweet Horizon, 14%., 2010 vintage. My 500th imperial stout tick. Thick black pour to form an opaque black beer with a foamy brown head. Aroma is port, chocolate liqueur and some rich coffee, but mostly dessert wine vibes. Body is rich and smooth, oily, low carbonation. Taste is chocolate and cherry, rich and sweet, port, coffee ... and then more sherry and port. I don’t normally like sweet imperial stouts (which are often meaty soy bombs) but I like this one a lot. Lots of dessert wine accented with chocolate and coffee. Great – but you have to approach it as though it’s a dessert wine rather than a beer. (4.1)

Theydon_Bois (20894) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 19, 2016
Bottle split at L42 Xmas Shit Shower, thanks to Danny, 19/12/16.
Light black with a decent tan cap.
Nose is sweet malts, chocolate, herbal strains, molasses, sticky toffee melt.
Taste comprises liquid fruit cake with a wheelbarrow of sugar dumped in it, Tiramisu, light spice, molasses, sweet malts, cofffe light, sticky toffee.
Full bodied, fine carbnation, warming alcohol in the close.
Fun to drink but way to sweet for more than a few sips.

mR_fr0g (13657) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 19, 2016
Bottle shared on Level 42 19/12/2016. Many thanks to Daniel for this one. A thick sticky mahogany brown coloured with a reluctant head. Aroma is sticky brown sugars, cakey malts, plum, madeira. Flavour is composed of very sweet, praline, brown sugars, cakey, plums. Palate is really sticky sweet, lowish carbonation. I like it, but very sweet.
