Bottle from Plonk. Exceptional beer, very sweet. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, and rum. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes, and long length. Palate is syrupy, and full bodied. Black, with a frothy head. RuneStumo (2696) - Haugesund, NORWAY - JAN 7, 2012
07.01.2012. 0,25l Bottle in a tin. Batch 372. Brewed 30.06.2008, BB 30.06.2015. Vinmonopolet Stavanger - Straensenteret. This is my first ever rating together with my wife! Black colour with a thin layer of tan head. Low carbonation. Very complex beer with lots of different flavours and aromas. Chockolate and coffee. Not bitter chocolate but very sweet. There is a very clear flavour of coffee. Very rich beer with strong body and both the chocolate and the coffee goes very well with the overwhelming sweetness. I love this beer!! zebra (2247) - Illinois, USA - DEC 27, 2010
coffee and sweetness, delicious. is this what beer + kahlua tastes like? if "appearance" included packaging, i’d take off for the deceptively large (and unnecessary imo) metal canister, but i guess it doesn’t. MisoW (3660) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - MAY 13, 2015

Aroma is very sweet, interesting and very good. The taste is also very sweet and very enjoyable. A lot of different tastes, all with sweetness in-common. Alcohol, candy, raisins, grapes and much, much more. Very tasty beer that keeps it interesting. Incredibly good. patrickfannon (1241) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 15, 2010
Bottle. 8.5 oz. Split with Vin. Pours a dark, slightly cloudy brown with a slick, smooth surface. No head. Aroma of chocolate cupcakes, marshmallows, dark cherries, molassess, slight bourbon, cranberries, and nice fig-plum ripeness. Amazingly subtle, medium body with absolutely no trace of alcohol until about 30 seconds after each sip; then warmth and sweetness swell and rise in the chest. The sweetness of the brew is initially unsettling, but it settles in well. Excellent, wild, insanely crazy Imperial stout. Great stuff. MissouriBrent (122) - Missouri, USA - DEC 14, 2010
Smells of dark malts and alcohol. Hints of cigar tobacco in the aroma..The coffee aromas are faint. Deep brown color with a decent head that almost instantly disappears. Smooth chocolaty flavor. Hints of orange and burnt sugar. There is a nice coffee flavor as well. There is not much, if any, carbonation to speak of, but the body is incredible none the less. Delicious and complex beer. Nothing is overdone or out of balance. New flavors confront you throughout the tasting of this beer. nilsas (4405) - Bryne, NORWAY - MAY 18, 2016

Kaffe, bek, lakris og alkohol.
Nesten ikke skum.
Svak kaffe, mye sukker, søt smak, en nydelig toning av lakris i ettersmaken.

Batch 372, Brygget 30.06.2008. Utrolig nyedelig rund og mild øl i smaken. Stor takk til Bryne for å dele denne godbiten.
UPDATED: NOV 11, 2011 From a 250ml bottle on 5/11/2010 (shared with the King). Batch number 372, brewed 30/6/2008, best before 30/6/2015. Exhibits a range of strong aromas, including choclolate, coffee, cocoa, toffee, roasted malt and liquorice. In the mouth, it’s intensely sweet, with dark and Easter egg chocloate, coffee, cherries, berries and raisins all evident. There is definitely a touch of muscat about this as well. Despite being ridiculously sweet, it’s beautifully balanced by a clanging hop bitterness at the back end, and is very smooth drinking for 14%. As the label says, it’s a dessert in itself. I’m not sure if it’s fair to call this an imperial stout, as really defies characterisation. An insane and exceptional beer which really pushes the envelope. Rating 4.3.
Re-rate on 11/11/2011 to celebrate the birth of my beautiful little daughter Violet Ellen on 10/11/2011. Another 250ml bottle from batch 372. Pours close to black with a tiny tan head. The aroma and flavour remains as described above. An absolutely stunning and sublime dessert beer. I’m genuinely distressed about its retirement.
