Ingredients: Malted barley, wheat, malted wheat, sugar, hops, yeast and local Grimstad water. It is very difficult to brew a complex and balanced Belgian-style tripel ale, but we have made an attempt at brewing one anyway! Our respect and admiration for those who master the skill and art of brewing excellent ale of this style is limitless. Tripels often pair with cheese, seafood and fresh vegetables.

Pours cloudy orange with almost no head. The aroma is a bit medicinal like the 9% alcohol is creeping through too much. The taste is sharply sweet but there is a tiny tang of tartness and I thought there was a bit of smoke in there.

Appearance: Bright golden. hazy. Firm head of fluffy white bubbles. Nose: Sweet roasted malts. Caramel. Touches of wheat, spice and bananas. Taste: Sweeter and strongly boozy at first sip with elements of darker stone fruits, spice and banana esters Body: thinner and lively Parting thoughts: A fantastic Tripel. I’ve been on quite a tripel tear, recently. either they or I have had a renaissance

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber beer with a minimal amount of quickly disappearing white head on top. Aroma is very malty and sugary, wheaty notes, bready touches and a vague hint of banana in there, like a strong weizen. Flavor is sweet and rather boozy, strong alcoholic presence in the beer, loads of malts in there, sugary notes, white fruits and again a hint of banana. Soft and sticky moutfheel, almost no carbonation present. Still nice though, yet strong.

500ml bottle from Oslo Airport duty free. Drunk at home. Pours a misty gold, white head. Aroma has some nice sweet tripel yeast notes. Taste is creamy with soft a tripel sweetness and very subtle peat notes. Quite balanced and doesn’t taste 9% in the slightest. Bit too creamy for my tastes though.

500 ml bottle from the Party Source from notes. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, lightly toasted malts, ripe fruits, and a hint of spice, ok example of the style.

Excellent tripple with an marzipan like aroma, delicate offwhite head which is rather short lived as you would expect with this alcohol content. Very good mouth feel. I like the alcohol on the nose, as well as the sweet after taste even though I know it might not be everybody’s cup of tea. Carbonation is probably in the lower end of the range for the style which again suits me.

BB backlog, Bottle in 2011 with PAt. Pours a hazy yellow color with medium sized white head. Tiny bubbles and nice lacing. Smell is apples, banana, belgian yeast, hops, and sweet malt. Flavor most of the same with some toasty malt, and dark fruits Carbonation was medium and so was the body.

2016 Philly Beer Week draft @ Khyber Pass. Pours slightly hazy golden color, maybe a touch of orange. Small, thin off-white head that was gone quickly. Grassy and citrusy aroma, maybe some stone fruit too. Full body, lightly syrupy, with a touch of astringency to the finish. Flavors of peach and citrus with a bit of an earthy note.
