COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Tindved is a sour Norwegian ale brewed with Norwegian malted barley and raw wheat. We added juice from pressed sea buckthorn to obtain the brash sourness. Nøgne Ø ales are unfiltered and unpasteurized so pour carefully if you want to leave the natural yeast in the bottom of the bottle.

Bottle. It’s a clear, golden beer topped by a small, dense, off-white head. Fresh aroma of berries, leather, citrus peel and barnyard. Some lightly spiced hints. Peppery. Oily mouthfeel, dry and pleasantly carbonated. Mild, berry flavor with a peppery hint, citrus notes and even more berries. Lasting finish with berries and some peppery hints. Sure not the most extreme sour beer I’ve had, but it’s easy drinkable and tasteful. Really pleasant to drink. 130304

Bottle. Pours a clear golden beer with a small white head on top, despite gushing a little bit. Aroma has barnyard funk, horse blanket, white fruits and hints of pear. Flavor is very light on the tart side, fruity and grainy, some wheaty notes in there giving it more sweetness and some tropical fruits. No stringent sour flavors, Light carbonation going on, long tary sweet aftertaste. Quite decent really.

Aroma: typical sourness but with a hint of green apple; some funky yeasty tones which may be a characteristic of the beer or the cause of a gushing bottle; Appearance: hazy orange pour; rest is not applicable due to gushing; Taste: follows nose; sourness and funkiness but not too overwhelming; okay; Palate: light bodied with long, funky finish; Overall: decent sour red/brown but nothing I would buy again.
