esox (1226) - Oulu, FINLAND - JUL 8, 2013
Hazy yellow-amber beer with a thinnish white head. Hoppy nose with notes of citrus, pollen, resins, sugary canned fruits, fruitcake and berryish yeast. Malty and slightly sweet/bready flavor with balanced caramel sweetness. Blanced bitterness. In the finish it tasty, dryish maltiness, berryish English yeast character together with juicy and slightly spicy and piney hop bitterness. It also has slightly mineral, almost salty aftertaste. Medium to full body, smooth and very drinkable texture. Well balanced DIPA with great drinkability.

Amber/caramel pour with a frothy off-white head. Lots of flecks of sediment bouncing around the glass. Toffee malts, grapefruit, tangerine peel, pine, passion fruit. Good carbonation starting sweet finishing with strong hoppy bitterness. Delicious.

Pours a hazy light brown with a medium off white head. Aroma is a nice blend of tropical fruits and malts (there’s some caramel in there somewhere, too). Taste is sweet, creamy malts (almost like milk chocolate) up front and gradually mellowing for an easy finish. The hops are very mild in this one. Different, but very, very good.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2013 Bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Pours slightly cloudy copper with a little but well lasting white head. Aroma is full of strong tropical fruitiness - notes of peach, apricot, orange - and some piny hoppiness and caramel. Taste is quite heavily bitter after some sweetish malty notes early on. Malts form the backbone but the balance is tilted heavily towards hops. Flavours of exotic fruits feature most. Palate is medium to full bodied and smooth. Very intense fruitiness and aromatic hoppiness in this DIPA. Quality beer.

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2013 Bottle, 21/06/13, thanks bluus for sharing. Pours amber with a decent, off-white head. Aroma is resinous and piney, some caramel. Taste is dry with a lot of resin, pine and pith. Resin and pith are very strong. Light touch of berries in the background. No fruitiness. A bit harsh maybe. Medium palate with good amount of carbonation.

NikkTwist (3403) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 20, 2013
UPDATED: NOV 8, 2014 Draft at Farmers Cabinet in June 2013 which tasted a bit funky. Better draft at Eulogy in November 2014. Murky amber pour. Frothy off-white head. Medium caramel malts. Reasonably strong hop bite. Feels nicely unfiltered. Rich dark amber fruits. Sulfured apricots and figs. Blood orange pith and peels. A bit overly sugary sweet in the middle but finishes with a good dry spiciness. Needs some more warmth to open it up.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2013 Brown to copper color with nice beige head. Lots of aromas from the hops, piny wood, resin and also some fruits. The body is malty sweet and thick. There’s well enough bitter hops but also fruity aromas. Well balanced DIPA.

elbernays (1731) - Dublin, IRELAND - JUN 15, 2013
Aroma of citrus with sweetness laced with alcohol. Poured light brown with strong head levelling to one finger head. Head kept till end lacing glass nicely. Taste floral citrus with a smooth chocolate hit on the palate with a good bitter aftertaste. Bit of burn at back of gullet with the strength of this beer. We’ll balanced and highly enjoyable.
