Pours orange colour with creamy white head. Aroma of citrus, orange and caramel. Creamy, piny and orange, towards grapefruit taste with extremely dry, bitter, citrusy and piney finish. Lovely

50cl Bottle from De Hopduvel, Gent. Hazy light-amber/orange colour, white head. Aroma of clementines, oranges, lemon, some grapefruit, a bit of caramel, just light buttery. Flavour is medium-sweet, oranges, bittersweet grapefruit, light yeasty, some lemon sweetness, nice bitter grapefruit hoppy finish. Medium-bodied, good mouthfeel. My kind of DIPA.

Bottle @ home, thans benzai! Aroma is big bready malt and massive hops, fruity, herbal and spicy. Flavour is a big lasting bitterness fading from sweet fruity hops to spicy herbal hops. Long bready and caramel malt note, intermingling with the hops. Nice.

2013-04-13. Light hazy dark orange body modest beige head. 3+ Resinous hoppy aroma, modest malt. 7+ Flavour is similar, good amount of bitterness, mild citrus and resinous hops. Lingering bitterness and mild alcohol. Average plus to medium bodied palate, good carbonation. Solid, I suspect hops might be more pronounced and nuanced when fresher but pretty good as is. Resinous fuzzy citrus builds as you drink more. Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto

Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 8, 2013
Dark apricot pour covered by a cask-like largeish bubbled foam. Opaque. Slightly yeasty, otherwise fragrantly citrusy nose focusing on earthy orange and grapefruit with a hefty resin background. Underneath, a gently biscuity, albeit not too intense on the crystals, malt base lifts up the minerally, crispy texture that again feels like a cask ale once its rested in the glass for a while and lost some of its activity. It’s a pleasant sensation and enhances drinkability. Has certainly lost a fair dose of its aromatic power, but remains agreeable, with a fun mouthfeel and fitting malt foundation. Good.

Drank from bottle on 8-Apr-2013. Brewed 6-Mar-2012 (Best before 6-Mar-2016 ??). Bottle bought at Barleywine, Copenhagen, it was on a shelf (no cold storage). Hazy, dark orange pour, normal white head, very spritzy. Good nose - grapefruit, orange zest (despite age). Bitterness had a grapefruit-like sharpness. It has some sweetness that goes away quickly. Finishes with bitter hop resins that linger in your tongue for a while making you want to drink more. Carbonation is on-spot providing a great mouthfeel. Hope I can get this beer fresh one day, I bet it is awesome!

Dark orange color with small white head. Aroma is floral, jasmin, tropical fruits, citrus peel. Taste is light sweet, fruit and medium bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Really nice double IPA

Good for the style but lacks some unique character. With this becoming such a popular category it needed something else. More malt and floral hops aroma with sweetness. Amber/copper color with a small head. Medium carbonation and smooth feel. Some sweet and tart essences. Well balanced with a good bitterness that wasn’t too sharp. Relatively dry finish. Pleasant.
