garthicus (2923) - Dublin, IRELAND - MAR 8, 2013
Bottle from Baggot Street Wines. Appearance: Very hazy amber, medium slightly off white head. Aroma: sour, very hoppy, lots of fresh weed like hops, fruit peel, leather, a little boozy with a lot of orange peel. Flavour: big hoppy flavour, tons of malt, tons of alcohol, wood, mango, sour with a long sticky hoppy finish.

bunget (942) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 4, 2013
500ml bottle. A muddy orange body, medium white head, good retention and lacing. Lots of sedimentation. Aroma of a classic American IPA: grapefruit, caramel, lots of floral hops, exotic fruits. Taste is again classic: resinous pine, tons of herbal hops bitterness, caramel, grapefruit and a touch of tropical fruits.

From a bottle shared at home. Pours a cloudy pale amber with an off white head. Aroma of citrus. Flavors of pine resin, orange peel, Astringent mouth feel. Light bitter finish. Very nice DIPA.

Frothmeister (786) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 3, 2013
500ml bottle. Pours a hazy rosy/amber with a light beige head, and some visible sediment floating. Nose is big resinous hops, caramel, alcohol, and some nice tropical fruit notes. Mmm. Taste is a pretty good balance of resinous notes, and tropical fruit notes adding some bitterness to a beer that might be a little too sweet. It’s tasty stuff, if maybe a little too sweet, but it’s a minor complaint. This is one damn good brewery.

unclemattie (4358) - Georgia, USA - MAR 2, 2013
0.5L bottle. Orange pour, thick creamy off-white head. Aroma of hops. Floral aroma covers up the heavy scent of biscuit malt. Herbal hop essence coats the tongue. Flavors carry a tropical fruit character; pineapple, grapefruit, orange zest. Perfect balance, hearty body but not heavy, smooth flavors. Loads of citrus rind bitterness carries through the end of the palate. Soft and easy to drink. (3627)

fmandal (10) - Steinkjer, NORWAY - MAR 2, 2013
Bottle, 500 ml. A decent IPA, but not close to being bought again. Actually, this was quite a disappointment. Don't get me wrong, it's a really good beer. But it's not top notch, and after reading so much praise of it at Norwegian home brew forums I'm not sure what the fuzz is all about. An average IPA, but nothing special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

pushkinwow (2758) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 1, 2013
500ml bottle. A pleasant amber with a biege head. Muted pine, some grapefruit and mango rind, caramel malt undertone, butterscotch, bit of banana sneaks in at the end unexpectedly. Moderate+ body, with a soft carbonation, sweet with a nice bitterness that develops and eventually dries out the palate leaving a hop resin coating. Tasty beer.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2013 (50 cl bottle courtesy of Mark, thanks!; Batch 922; Brewed on June 2nd 2013) Pours a slightly hazy amber with little, white head. Decent retention, lace and regeneration. Aroma is yeasty with notes of citrusy hops. Oily texture, medium carbonation, full body and an astringent, warming finish. Flavour is bitter and boozy with sprucy notes. Original rating from February 23rd 2013: (50 cl bottle from Den Nordiske Ølhandel; bbd: March 6th 201<illegible>) Pours a hazy amber with medium white head. Good retention and lace. Decent regeneration. Aroma is a subtle hoppy with fruity notes and an acidic hint. Oily texture, medium carbonation, full body with a warming finish. Taste is boozy with fruity notes and an astringent finish. Dipa is just not my favourite style. Girlfriend says "I like the aroma but it’s too bitter for me." Ar: 6; Ap: 3; Ta: 6; Pa: 3; O: 12

neuromatt (1225) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 23, 2013
50 cL bottle from the LCBO, served in a snifter. Pours hazy orange-amber with a moderate off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a moderate amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are big citrus notes of orange and lemon, along with flowers, tropical fruit, and touches of grain and caramel. The flavour is intensely bitter throughout with big pine and grapefruit, but there is also a moderate caramelly, biscuity malt background that doesn’t quite balance. Notes of mango and peach peek through as well. Bitterness kicks up a notch towards the end, leading into a long, dry piney bitter finish. Overall, this is a very nice double IPA with a surprising subtlety despite a huge amount of hops. Very well constructed, and well worth another try. 2012-12-15
