The name of this beer is "Peculiar Christmas" in English. This spiced Christmas ale is strange - and indeed a fusion beer. We have gathered inspiration from the Norwegian drink “gløgg”, and as such this is quite an uncompromising brew. Best served with “goro” and “fattigmann”. Recommended serving temperature 10°C/50°F, but you are free to try on higher temperatures...

Ingredients: Maris Otter, Munich, caramel, and chocolate malt; Columbus and Cascade hops; 5 different spices, English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

15°P, 30 IBU, 6.5 ABV.

Wierd but nice, not the traditional norwegian style.. Hoppy and spicy, dark malts. Thick almost tar in a plesant way.

On sale @ Beer Market (Ht) ::: Sorte de light Barley wine >> Bière ambrée bien maltée et fortement épicée mais peu amère. Son bouquet épicé agresse pas mal les narines avec des senteurs surettes voire acidulé venant d’abord la cardamone et puis le girofle. Le corps malté fortement caramélisé livre une rondeur grasse aux arômes de biscuit et de chicorée agréable et équilibrée, qui s’épanouit en arrière goût en devenant crémeuse au palais mais assèche la langue. En finale, l’amertume sèche et fruitée à l’écorce d’orange confite revient en laissant une sensation acres qui soutient bien l’ensemble accompagnée d’une levure légèrement poivrée. #405

Aus der Flasche 2017-04 getrunken. Wer immer mal ein Bier mit Gewürzen probieren will kriegt hier das volles Brett aus Zimt, Ingwer, Nelken, Koriander und Kardamom. Doch die Nelken dominieren hier alles, so daß diese Bier recht schnell sehr anstregend wird. Mit dem Ding könnte man sicher gut ein Weihnachtbraten verfeinern und man braucht dann keine Gewürze für den Braten mehr. Ein interessantes Bier doch ein kleiner Schluck reicht.

Butelka 500ml. Kolor ciemny, nieprzejrzysty, piana szybko opada ale zostawia ślady na szkle, ładne ślady. Aromat piernikowy, świąteczny, trochę czekolady. W smaku słodko-wytrawne ,korzenne. Głównymi atutami tego piwa są aromat i wygląd, bardzo dobre.

50cl brygget 10/14, bb11/2017 Courtesy of ? palme/idiosynkrasie? - i forget... Merci anyways! - "Brobygger mellom øl og gløgg" - albeit a heavily spiced gløgg: massive cardamom in aroma, oddly overpowering and lushly contoured by clove and cinnamon. Reminds me of mace-laced (maced?) German Spekulatius as opposed to cassonade-forward Belgian speculoos. Matured nicely into a drinkable 6,5% warmer with a silky UK malt mouthfeel. Spices remain aromatic as in a tajine served in a Norwegian sauna where someone is trying to enjoy his Fuller’s Winter ale. Well done, but these spices are not really my thing. - - Instead of Norwegian Xmas cookies or cream–cheese smeared spekuloos, pairs also well with: Min Kamp 3, the disappointing New Year’s firework scenes.

From bottle. Pours cloudy brown with a frothy cream head. Nose of sour cherries, ginger, cloves, toast, super spicy. Taste is treacle, cinnamon, more cloves, roasted malts.

bottle @ home, aged five years in the cellar and still nice. Large frothy head. Spicy glüh-like taste and aroma with cardamon, ginger, herbs, caramel, licorice slight chocolate.

Bottle from Saveur-Biere.com - Color: deep dark brown beer with no carbonation and small brown head. Smell: spicy domination with roasted malt balance. Nose with cardamon, and some Fernet notes. Very intensive. Taste: medium body with good roasted malt backbone, taste as a Fernet with huge spicy explosion, mint notes. Definitely not my style. Too much as a Fernet. Aftertaste: spicy and mint. Caramel hint.

Luke 23 adventskalender 2016. Flaske fra Vinmonopolet Jekta. Aroma nellik, gløgg, krydder. Utseende mørk brun med beige skum. Smak gløgg, humle, krydder, litt alkoholsmak. Bitterhet i ettersmaken. En veldig god øl med mye julestemning.
