This beer is the culmination of over 30 years of brewing by our Brewmaster, Peter ‘Hopzilla’ Caddoo. Created at our Tchoupitoulas Street brewery, our India Pale Ale was hand crafted with six malts and six hops. This big, beautiful beer is dry hopped with Amarillo and Simcoe hops to accentuate aromas of citrus and pine. Grab a Hopitoulas and taste the passion and dedication that has gone into this brew.

Draft at the source. Crystal clear golden color, fluffy white head. Aroma of mixed fruits, tropical fruit. Taste is fruity, light pine background. Very nice.

Can from a trade. No dragons or anything cool on the can, so only a 3 there. Aroma is muted hops, mostly grass. Taste is a sweet sticky malty mess of hay, grass, and sweet tea. very astringent and harsh with no hop flavor. This is bad. I just hope someone sent me a bad can and this beer is better fresh.

Clear orange-amber body, medium sized white head, sparse lacing. Grapefruit, pale malts and a general citric quality. Medium bodied with moderate to lively carbonation, modest bitterness.

Pours a clear amber color with off white head. Faint fruity, citrusy, earthy hop aroma, caramel malt. Stale, oxidized, faint hop flavor, earthy, sweet, mild bitterness, lots of malt...old can or just bad beer.

Clownoisseur (482) - Buchanan, Michigan, USA - MAY 29, 2014
Middle of the road IPA. Malty, sweet, some lingering hop bitterness...along with some citrusy grapefruit notes.

Many, many keg pours at a Tulane graduation party for my nephew hosted by the auntie of his friend and featuring an awesome spread of homemade NO treats and unending raw oysters. This rating from memory or lack thereof. Clearish amber with aroma of citrus and pine, a touch musky. Medium body with moderate carb; perfect for a warm night. Taste about the same; grapefruit, toffee and citrus peel, on the bitter side. After 6 hours it still tasted pretty good and much better than the Abita offerings.

Hipsters say the darndest things when describing beer. It’s beer for Christ’s sake, drink it, enjoy it, and shut the F*&$ up!

TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 21, 2014
An average IPA. Had it from the can into a glass. Pours a more yellowish golden color. Aroma isn’t overly powerful, some grass and grapefruit. Palate is the same.

Malaclemys (464) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - APR 11, 2014
Can pours copper with white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel, nut, resin. Taste is caramel, citrus, nut. Medium body with a balanced finish.
