Pours pitch black, small head. Aroma: very intense aroma of coffee, roasted malt, a touch of milk. Taste: again coffee, roasted malt, a bit of coffee sourness in the palate. Great. djd07 (14517) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 13, 2016
On tap at the brewery. Pours black with small beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong roast and cocoa. Medium mouth, cracker malt, roast, dark chocolate, lingering dry finish, very good. glennmastrange (2870) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAR 10, 2016
Can. Heavy malt aromas of toasted and dark chocolate, light herbs and earth for the hops and yeast, with a note of cardboard and a hint of whiskey in the background. Head is large, frothy/creamy, light brown with slippery lacing and good legs, and is mostly diminishing. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, creamy with a soft carbonation and a lightly dry finish. A smooth and very easy drinking Stout. SanfordBrewer (1574) - Sanford, Florida, USA - FEB 14, 2016
Opaque black with foamy tan head. Moderately full body; but not syrupy, creamy, or silky.
lealintern (14) - New Orleans, Louisiana, USA - JAN 31, 2016
Aroma: metallic, roasted barley, carob, cacao, faint herbal hops.
Taste: lots of roasted barley, rubber phenol, espresso.
Very dry, and overly roasty.
I'm not normally a stout fan, but this has all the nice roasty flavors, but with a thinner body that is a nice balance for me jrodooo5 (1672) - DOVER, Delaware, USA - JAN 11, 2016
Not the prettiest of pours but it sure is tasty! Pours opaque w/ basically no head or lacing. The aroma has a subtle but nice chocolate malt profile. The flavor is dark chocolate w/ maybe even a hint of roasted notes. It’s not overly chewy making it easy to drink. Pretty good stuff! Marheb (5773) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 6, 2016
(En fût à la brasserie): Support chocolaté extraordinaire, mélasse et une adéquate décadence vers un fini sec et torréfié. Superbe. BeerandBlues2 (13323) - Escondido, California, USA - JAN 3, 2016
Can from sonnycheeba. Pours opaque black with a medium, frothy tan head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is roast and chocolate malt, leather, smoke/peat, and prunes. Flavor is bitter and lightly tart chocolate and roast malt, smoke, leather, light earthy hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 31, 2015
Pours almost like an imperial stout, very dark brown and thick, khaki colored head. Roasted malts, dark cocoa, and some light hoppiness add to an interesting nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied surprisingly enough. Finishes with roast and cocoa. Interesting stout, very good, done well.
