Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours dark brown, very hazy, half a finger tan coloured head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla. Taste of initial chocolate, then some vanilla, the sourness of course works throughout, then some coffee too. Nice.

berntholer (1615) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - DEC 31, 2014
beige head leaves structured lacing. dark brown red colour. aroma is yoghurt, lactic acid, lactobacillus in the house, vanilla, red fruit. *up to this moment i was expecting a great oud bruin-like*. taste is extremely wry, unpleasant, grape-pits, some glue and vinous, medium body and carbonation. too bad thre wryness really spoils everything. there really is potential here, hope other batches turn out better. gorgeous bottle btw. bottle 75cl

Un chocolat canneberge qui patauge dans une boue acétique et tannique. Des houblons verts s’invitent aussi à la fête dans un liquide original qui ressemble à une rouge des Flandres.

3.6
MartinT (9795) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 22, 2014
My Bottom Line:
Dried cranberries, peppery brettanomyces and chocolate manage to coalesce before earthy hop bitterness seals the deal.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the mahogany.
-This brew has a touch of Flemish Red within.
-The important bitterness is not necessary, to my tastes. I would have preferred more tartness.

Bottle.
