Bottle: Poured a deep lightly hazy amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of caramel malt with light dry notes of rye malt also noticeable. Taste is a refreshing mix of light sweet caramel malt with light notes of rye with no significant hops presence. Body is fuller then average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Easily drinkable with enough complexity. This could be a nice session ale if it was more affordable with a little bit less alcohol. Sammy (12391) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 25, 2011
Pours murky brown with one-wuarter inch lasting head, and leaving lace lines. Spicey and yeasty aromas that are pleasant to take in. Slightly above average mouthfeel and drinkability. This 600 ml bottle needs to be shared, as cloves and ginger get to be much three glasses in. Satisfying, palate tingling. mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 20, 2011
[3608-20110220] 600mL bottle. Christmas spices malt aroma with sweet gingerbread notes. Slightly hazy, red amber body with a quick creamy tan head. Boozy spices and toasted malts flavour. Medium-dull body. Interesting enough. (7/3/6/3/13) 3.2

600ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a murky light copper with some carbonation and a rapidly vanishing head. Aroma is juniper, nutmeg, slight clove and a big hit of very sweet caramel malt. Taste is sickly sweet with honey, maple syrup like malt notes, some spice and very mild bitterness. Alcohol is well hidden. Finish is forgettable. M’eh. Aroma cherry, spices, nutmeg with ginger. Light sweet malt notes behind. Pleasant.
Appearance clear amber red with finishing light beige top.2+
Flavor and Palate : Medium light bodied. Front accented by caramel fill, candy and brown sugar. Light hint of rye in the middle with oily textures. Slight bitterness noted with alcohol on lips. Finishing with clove. Good.
Quite like this, although would be more enjoyable in a smaller bottle (having 600ml). Gets a bit sickening having that much. Pleasant aroma of molasses cookies. Good beer. MrManning (2009) - Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 8, 2011
Bottle shared generously by my friend Danielle. Deep amber with a creamy eggshell cap. Some pretty lace here. Spiced nose reminds me of Christmas cake with nutmeg, pit fruits, cardamon, toffee malts. Sweet with good balancing bitter spice. A savory and sweet concoction. Creamy, medium bodied, moderately carbonated with no hint of the ABV. A good example. rodenbach99 (4572) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 1, 2011
Bouteille brune 600ml. 6/10 barncatmatt (2286) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 27, 2011
600ml bottle fom the LCBO. pours deep reddish brown with a lingering tan head that laces. gingerbread aroma. nice malt forard fruity flavour with spice in the finish. nice but wouldbe better on christmas eve. Metalchopz (3422) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 27, 2011
Import from the LCBO and comes in a 600ml brown bottle. Pours a copper-red colour with a frothy beige head, decent retention and lacing. Very nice spicy aromas, with mostly cinnamon (maybe light nutmeg and ginger) and some light dark fruit notes in the back. Smooth mouthfeel that goes down well, with no burning alcohol. Roasted malt flavours with some more dark fruits (raisins, plum, fig) and the spices not as much felt in the taste. Just a great spiced beer to warm you up in winter time.
